I'm in the same boat... 'cept I'm 5'4...

My roomie and I bought some adorable flats yesterday downtown. She got some pretty purple ones - they're very mod.

exactly, they have flats in Japan but their waay too pointed. I prefer a more rounded toe. Japanese just seem to LOVE sharp toes...

I have a lot of flats, but I can't say I love them or anything. They just appeared in my line of sight during thrift trips and I bought them

I love wearing them with skirts, though, because mine are very bright and colorful. I have one pair with metallic and a bow thingy... so great.

I LOVE flats also...and I think I can get away with wearing all the time, being 5'6", which is a pretty medium height. My favorite pair right now are the metallic ballet flats by Jeffrey Campbell. I own the mint green ones.
