She looks fabulous her face is just perfect Im in love:heart::heart:

NEwwWWws

****Update: This just in: Apparently, Sessilee and Naomi are the only models in the issue that have full spreads! Every other girl has only one picture.

As for Arlenis, look for her again in this September's Vogue - she's got a full spread!

I don't think that's true because other models have multiple photo's in the video in the thread about the issue.

Arlenis photo is stunning. That definetly should have been a cover of some of the others!

Arlenis looks amazing in the VI photo. And great news about September US Vogue!

The VI pic is beautiful. Thanks for posting starry_night:flower::flower:
Can't wait to see her ed in Vogue USA too.B) She's getting some great work and deservedly so.:D

I think she is pretty bland right now. But cannot wait to see how she improves. She is gorgoeus and i love that she is Latina, not black. Would love to see this new editorial! Its safe to say Chanel, Jourdan and Arlenis will take the fashion world by storm!

I'm not fond of that VI shot. They kind of blanded her face out with the airbrushing. Not much life in it compared to her US Vogue shots. At least I know that she can do better so I'm looking forward to all her upcoming print work.

I don't think that's right at all. Considering that, no matter how fab Sessilee is (and she is!), I don't see them getting Liya Kebede, Tyra and Yasmine for *one* shot each  there's a Youtube vid that shows multiple shots for other models.

I doubt its including outtakes but...well we'll just have to wait for the complete scans :ninja:.

i love that she is Latina, not black.

she is latina but she is also of african descent like many latin americans. that's like saying chanel iman or tyra banks are north americans, but not african american. she's both:D. like most countries in the west it's a "mestisaje" population. even most african american have admixture but are put into rigid categories. they still have categories of "negra, blanca, morena, mulata, triguena" etc in the latin world. if you mean she isn't african american i agree, but if your definition of black is having african descent i don't think that statement is necessarily true.

( and i'm not trying to undermine your post it's just people often speak as though being latina and afro-descent is an oxymoron)

Yes I knew that...and i also knew that we all have a little african in us, I read somewhere that if you trace back to our evolution and the earths. Humans started off in what would be africa and then soon migrated. But I love Arlenis representing for the Latinos!!!

i wasn't trying to be rude or implying you weren't knowledgeable in my post, hopefully you didn't perceive it that way. i only mean that she has the potential to represent latina and african diasporan heritage in a way. i mean, naomi campbell is european with a similar background of the west indies as arlenis, but she seems to transcend background and represents the beauty of women of african descent. that is a beauty that isn't portrayed or acknowledged in our society and i think that's one of the reason so many, including campbell, are speaking up about it so models like arlenis, jourdan, sessilee etc ( with all different cultures but similar heritage) can have a fighting chance in this industry. anyway, i'm just clarifying what i meant since i sensed a hint of sarcasm in your post.

jeez, it must be a lot of pressure on her being expected to represent this and that because of the buzz surrounding her. for now i guess i'll just try to see as a budding model with a lot of potential until we know she's here to stay. hopefully hype doesn't kill her sudden success!

I was totally not being sarcastic....Im sorry if it read like sarcasm. I actually really enjoyed your post(it shows that fashion people can be intellectual as well:lol::lol:) I just decided since we were on that topic i should ad my little piece of information (which I thought was interesting by the way:blush:).:flower::flower:
