I wouldn't really mind the hips, I don't think they stand out too much... but of course the designers will have to adjust and Arlenis would need to compensate in other areas. Other than that she's got an awesome eye + eyebrow combo and she completely embraces her ethnic look which makes her bomb

It's a disadvantage for sure, models with 'big' hips need to compensate in other ways; like Tanya and Natasha with their great walks. But 2 editorials by Meisel is surely enough to get her some good jobs, at least for now.

She does have height and youth though! That's enough for most designers

Eugenia, Morgane, yes... But Natasha? Her hips aren't particularly wide

Anyways with a face like this, I hope nobody will mind Arlenis' hips!

There's been a lot of buzz lately on Marilyn's latest superstar. Her name is Arlenis, she's eighteen years old and from the Dominican Republic. In the two weeks she's been in New York City she's shotVogue Italia with Meisel, just worked with Craig McDean this past weekend and a few others you'll be seeing soon. Anna Wintour met her and sent her directly over to Oscar de la Renta to be clothed for the Met Ball. Can you imagine?

It's amazing, and something that Anna is showing interest in her. First and foremost we need to see if she really shines in editorials or not and secondly, if shes managed right and performs up to expectation she can really take this long distance, unlike someone like Georgia Frost

she's pretty and it sounds like she's off to a pretty amazing start. have to admit there are girls out there who stand out a lot more to me, though, who don't get half as much notice taken, let alone in their first 2 weeks of modeling it seems a bit absurd!. good for her though....let's hope it lasts
