wow, just when i think i have hit a dead end in finding inspirational painters/illustrators of the past, i came across so many new old artists i have not heard of.

i just love his use of bright vivid colors such as those in the second picture and many of his other paintings. so different from the other paintings of his time which had more dark and opaque tones.
