8/27/1955-Rome, Italy- Audrey Hepburn, whose many talents didn't include the gavotte, takes lessons in the old French dance in Rome. Audrey had to learn the dance, which was in vogue in czarist Russia, for her role in "War and Peace." No one could be found in Rome who could teach Miss Hepburn the intricate steps of the gavotte until an American dancer from Paris showed up. Under his guidance, Audrey was soon gavotting like best of them.

Audrey is so amazing. So modest, humble, and giving, and yet she truly is (I speak in the present tense on purpose) one of the most beautiful women of ANY era. oh, and she also intelligent and talented. Does it get any better?

Newlyweds Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer flee photographers on the grounds of the villa near Albano where they are honeymooning. Arriving by car after a train ride from Switzerland, where they were married, the pair dashed for the villa with the lensmen in hot pursuit. The sleeping car conductor on the train tagged Oscar-winning Miss Hepburn "the most beautiful bride" he's seen in 17 years of service. Audrey told newsmen, "I hope everyone will be discreet about leaving us alone in our hideaway".

you cant deny that she has a special onscreen presence but for some reason i never thought of her as a good actress. i agree that she has great style, is beautiful, elegant, and has charm...i just never thought of her as a good actress

Really?I always thought of her as a good actress but i guess since she did a lot of comedies people didnt think of her as of Katherine Hepburn.
But i think she was a great actress she made it look so easy and effortless.
She was not good just in romantic comedy i enjoyed her dramatic roles too.

im not saying shes a bad actress.
i was watching funny face last night and there were a few scenes were you could tell she was uncomfortable or just conveyed an expression that wasnt appropriate for the scene/that particular moment.

Thought it was quite a poor film.

^ Oh yes Charade is wonderful, as are Sabrina and My personal favorite Roman Holiday!

Yes I love Roman Holiday too^! I haven't seen How To Steal A Million, which I reeeally want to see!! I'm going to have to order it! :woot:

^Yeah me too. I saw Two for the Road and I didn't like that one so much. I didn't like the guy she was married to in it. It was ok though.

At Target I saw a box set of Sabrina, Roman Holiday and Breakfast for only $22. I must go back and get it when I am not so dirt poor.
