Audrey was true class in all its forms. What I find crazy is that she was insecure about her looks! Can you believe she actually said once "I never thought with a face like mine that I'd end up in pictures."

I had a childhood friend who looked very much like Audrey Hepburn, the same exact bone structure and features and she was also very gamine-like. I envied that friend so much, you have no idea!

I know, it's amazing. I think it was really just part of personality though. She was such an incredibly loving and giving person that I suppose she couldn't spend long thinking about herself. Apparently her nickname was also "square," because she was convinced that her face shape was truly unattractive. Besides, she had other things on her mind than her looks.

Also, she left her dropped her career to care for Sean and Luca.
She was definately a woman who knew what she was about.

that is a truly beautiful poem, thankyou so much for posting it it really does reflect what she was all about, a truly beautiful person all around
everytime I learn something new about Audrey it only increases my respect for her

You're very welcome. I am only waiting to discover some horrible fault of hers.
She almost seems too ideal...

 

[Dark Princess]

My local newspaper had an article on her yesterday where it said that she and thousunds of other children recieved help from UNICEF in during WW2. She said that later in life this inspired her to help other children of war and poverty. It's hard to imagine this glamorous woman having been a starving child of war.

A really sweet quote of hers: "Those who don't believe in miracles are unrealistic" (hope it comes out right with the translation)

She's so sweet.

BTW, do you guys have the book An Elegant Spirit? It is a gorgeous book. I have it just to put on my coffee table though it is also good to read. Some parts made me cry
