She is 14. The rumour goes she was crying at Jil Sanders. Does anybody know more?

"Who said it was easy being a model? Not only do you have to negotiate five inch heels on a polished catwalk (did you know Balenciaga smear theirs with diet coke beforehand to make them sticky?) but their every move/facial expression/wiggle is analysed by the front rowers... Take poor Auguste Abeliunaite who walked down the Jil Sander catwalk in Milan this week with tears streaming down her face. Instead of focusing on the gorgeously minimalist collection with its clean lines and simple silhouettes, the fash pack were straight on to their Blackberrys to Twitter their theories: was she in distress at the orange wedges? Allergic to the hair and make-up? Apparently, Jil Sander's publicity team ‘didn't see the incident', so no clues from them and on with the fashion speculation. Hmm... maybe it's just another model injury – we heard in London one model arrived at a casting in floods of tears after hair extensions glued on for one show had been brutally ripped off straight afterwards. Nice. We'll stick to watching shows rather than walking in them then..."

That's from jossip:

I worked backstage at the Jil Sander show. The reason Auguste was in tears was because the shoes were extremely uncomfortable and high. She had broken her foot a while back and she had a bad cramp in one of her feet whilst walking on the catwalk. She was scared that she would fall because of the high and uncomfortable shoes. I can imagine the the pain and the fear of falling made her cry.

No here is the real story

"Crying Model Explains the Tears

Model Auguste Abeliunaite's teary turns down Jil Sander's runway were the talk of Milan Fashion Week. But why was she crying? A commenter on the Wall Street Journal's Heard on the Runway blog claiming to have worked backstage at the show said the high, uncomfortable shoes caused a painful cramp in a foot Auguste broke a while ago. But Auguste herself appears to have counter-commented on the blog, explaining she cried because the lights were too strong and her eyes are very sensitive. We hope she gets used to that if she wants a runway career. [Heard on the Runway/WSJ via Jezebel"

She looks kinda saintly with those tears (can you say like that) to me. Love it.

i think amaising that everybody have to find a jutification for her to cry.
she is very young, it is her first fashion week, at a rather big show, i really think it is quiet normal that it needs really not much happening to cry, just obviously it happened at a very wrong moment, and of course it is not gonna help her that out of the business it is all what people remember of her this week.

in lituania there is a big news web site who made big article about it, but they even did not mention that she did prada, was just about "a poor lithunian model crying in Milan"...

so, let's close the story, we all have sometimes cried, and never had to give the reason to anybody i think!

I suppose it doesn't matter what the real story is unless we hear it directly from Auguste. Gossip is rampant, and if this incident hadn't occurred how much interest would there be in her? Chalk it up to serendipitous pratfalls. Now let's see what she does with the attention.

Women Milano kept the bookings on ace newcomer Auguste Abeliunaite very very selective resulting in a triple crown moment for the girl everyone is buzzing about right now. After the Jil sander moment, the pristine walk for Burberry and the deal sealing Prada confirmation Miss Abeliuniate’s etheral features have been firmly etched into every model watcher’s mind. Stay tuned for the editorial translation.

About her age...
I know that Women (and all agencies of Assem) doesn't put girls under 16 on the runway...

it seems to me that everywhere they are reporting that she is 14.... and while it seems that people in milano and assem would like the girls to be 16, there is no law, and i know that unfortunately there are always exceptions.

in my opinion, there really should not be any girls under 16 on the runway or in major designers ads, unless of course it is a childrens line!!!
