Avril Ascending

Avril Lavigne made her mark as the idol of disaffected teenagers rebelling against the Barbie doll pop that ruled the early Zeroes. Now witness Avril in her new incarnation: glamorous, grown-up and angling for her share of those fashion campaigns currently being coralled by celebrities. And via her reps at Ford, she already has the blue chip editorials piling up. Stay tuned!

How nice, let's make every single f****** celeb in this world the next Twiggy or Janice!!! This is so ********. I thought there is someplace I can escape the ugly grasp of celebs, but now it proves impossible. There are thousands of pretty girls who are still not fitted to be model. What makes celeb so goddamn special except their money and status????

Come on... they're just trying you know, when you feel like you can do something & you had ability to do it, then why not?? I think that what happens to her this time

i believe that she can be a teen-magazine model but she cant be a runway model coz shes pretty short for being a model.

I think she's cleaned up quite lovely. If I just think of the change I've gone through in the past five years (I'm 19 now, so from 14-19) I've grown an immense amount and have re-created myself so many times that it's hard to recognise me from old photos.

Good on her for not becoming entrenched in that one teenage image. She's grown up and moved on and she looks gorgeous for the part. I don't know what everyone else is whining about, but I'd really want to see her doing extremely well in this new career move. :)

Well I think your right, personality wise seeing her act all tough and tom boyish and with her style before and after, its pretty dramatic. She does look better now IMO, but then again its true that its just not her.

I think this is pathetic. She herself has said that she is only 5'1" and she looks even shorter in that Harpers Bazar editorial. Leave modeling to REAL models Avril, and go back to trashing malls.

Cause Miss Avril said herself that she could do it. She likes to do all that "high-end stuff" and she's into makeup and clothing now. So much for a person who couple years ago had annouced that she is not the type of girl who pays too much attention to appearance. I always knew she was fake. I wish I never liked her. I thought she was different and original when I first met her, now... blah

What's wrong with growing up? I laugh at what I wore when I was 16 (I TUCKED LIGHTWEIGHT SWEATERS INTO MY SKIRTS!!!!! TALK ABOUT NASTY!)! I'm now 26 years old and not only do I dress better, but I feel that I look better too.

Avril will do fine in print ads for Chanel, especially if it's for cosmetics. Jane March was a beauty model before she got into acting and she's very, very petite.
