Awareness & Consciousness was founded in spring 2005 from the artist Anneliese Schrenk and the designer Christiane Gruber. Since the year 2002 Anneliese Schrenk is studing painting and graphics at the Academy of fine Arts Vienna. Befor that she attended a course of lectures in fashion where she got to know Christiane Gruber. Christiane Gruber studied fashion at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under professors Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Viktor & Rolf and Raf Simons. After her graduation in 2002 she received the Fashionaward of BKA and worked for A.F.Vandevorst and Haider Ackermann in Antwerp. Returning to Vienna she is currantly working as an independent fashion designer and presented here first collection, “La Douce” Spring/Summer 2005, in October 2004 in Paris. In Spring 2005 Christiane Gruber & Anneliese Schrenk decided to work togehter. After the formation of the label Awareness & Consciousness with the base in Vienna, they released their first Womenswear Collection Spring/Summer 2006 including leatheraccessoires, bags, jewellery and clothes and presented it during the fashionweek in Paris. As Anneliese’s work in accessoires stands for Awareness, Christiane’s works in clothing stands for Consciousness. Toghether they develop the jewellery.

^had to mention....this gorgeous knit dress is alot like one I recall Jurgi Persoons did some years ago...of course,it was all woven with his signature gauge thread instead of knitted yarn....

But Christiane's knitwear is unbelievably organic and extraordinary all the same. It's really beautiful.
