Mark Badgley and James Mischka took a streamlined approach to resort for both their Collection and Couture lineups. As Mischka pointed out, “There’s not a ruffle in sight.” The designers were inspired by an upcoming trip to Tahiti and Bora-Bora, specifically the islands’ colors and flowers and the works of Gauguin. Tulle dresses were embroidered in tropical flower and leaf motifs, while slender gowns featured beautiful hibiscus-printed side accents. A sand motif came through in the shimmering white beaded dresses, one in a short, strapless silhouette and a longer version featuring an embellished neckline.
