Balenciaga F/W 2020.21 Paris

Maybe it's the runway presentation itself that's throwing me off, but I do have to say: his usage of black here is absolutely dreadful. When I think of all the moods & looks a head-to-toe black outfit conveys, I don't see any of it here. I don't see somebody who's sexy, who's mysterious, who's strong, who's in control, who's this, or who's that. His black is about as dull and lifeless as you're going to find.

It just seems so funny to me that black is also the same color used on a lot of pieces by Haider Ackerman and Olivier Theyskens this season but look at how magnificent their collections are, compared to this. lol

Isn’t it because here, it’s just a color whereas for Haider and Olivier, it’s a line? For them, black is there to highlight the cut, the lines.

All I can think of is the stunning set design. and that was it. Nothing much. I can't wait to read about his reflection on global warming, world hunger and whatever crap he tries to pull to make his designs better when it's same old things.
