Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2025 Paris

I think I’m the lone balenciaga fan here

I like the collection tbh, but my problem with demna is that he is no longer pushing boundaries and the elegance and refinement is almost non existent these days, so we just end up with a ton of merch and ideas, none of them fully realized which makes it very gimmicky and lacking in depth. by the time his collections make it to retail, I’m no longer excited and their prices have ballooned beyond what I find reasonable.

It’s sad that most won’t remember his early collections for the house because he’s dumbed it down to this now.

non existent these days,

Only these days?

I get it for some this is probably "cool" and "current"... but he should leave it at vetements. There should have been no place for this in Balenciaga. He tried atleast in the beginning to incorporate evening wear with his streetweat. Now its just thrift shop couture.

Also.. Visors as sunglasses? how groundbreaking. Sadly, now Balenciaga is just a high street brand. I know, many brands are not like what they were with the original designer anymore. I don't think they will be able to bring back the legacy of Balenciaga anymore, not any time soon atleast. I feel like his brand is the only one that has stayed "luxury" but with a totally opposite ethos to what he stood for.

I can understand why this has some fans. You cannot mistake it with another brand. I consider it trashy, but I can see why someone would consider it "edgy" (edgy not per se, but under the tag "Balenciaga").

The problem for me comes when in the last Couture show you have pieces that could belong in here to almost all effects.
You are doing Haute Couture, Collections and Pre-Collections, and in the end it all looks like the same heavy-metal-drug-dealers-&-addicts-homeless-scorts potpourri.
