Thanks aris!! Does that model have a special name? I'll def. look out for those! :D

Thanks aris! :brows:

I do agree with PursePrincess about the colors on this model though. They come in prettier ones in the elasticated version.

Booh. :(

both are very, very comfortable. rest assured of that. the loafers are not as appealing by themselves, but don't look TERRIBLE on.

that said, i still find the elasticized ones INCREDIBLY comfortable and well worth the money.

For anyone who owns the Lanvin elasticized flats, or any elasticized flats for that matter, do you find the elastic heel always slipping off your heels?

Rather unglam to be pulling up the back all the time.

I have five pairs, but only the bronze pair slips, and only on my left foot. It is VERY annoying.

*gasp* Cinder: you have FIVE PAIRS? I want a pair, but my allowance won't cover it.

funnily enough i just bought anothet pair of Lanvin Elasticated Flats.
this time in bright red leather
they also had a magenta but i think red is cooler for winter ;)

I'm noticing more girls here in kitten heels now...and thank goodness because walking on cobblestone streets in ballet flats are now wreaking havoc on my arches (or lack thereof)

Maybe if I could find the right pythonesque flat with just a hint of heel...

Are the Lanvin flats as comfortable to wear as the rumors say they are?

I practically live in flats and the only way I could justify buying another pair would be if they are the most comfortable flats ever. The only thing I'm iffy about is the elastic band in the back (esp. on the patent ones), because I've tried lots of pairs with the same thing (example: a few from Dior) and they were too hard and too tight and I just know that I won't be able to wear them that long before they start to hurt my foot. I hope that's not the case with the Lanvins? And do you think or know if they'll only last for one season regarding the wear and tear? (I guess that depends on how much you wear them too, but yeah.. Generally speaking.)

Soooo? Any thoughts? :innocent:

Oh I'm just in the process of finding out the hard way how those Dior ballet flats hurt and blister in the back...do they ever get better?

:woot: Quirky!!! Blistered or not, good to see you! :flower:

DansLAir, what about the Lanvin python ballets with built-in wedge? I tried these on & they felt pretty good ... they are pricey, of course ...

oh my!!
the python ballet flats were on sale at BON MARCHE in paris when i was there. was gonna get them but they didnt have my size left.
the latest update i heard from the boutique is that lanvin has stopped making the normal ballet flat without the elastic.... :(

vista - just read your post, but since i full heartedly advocate lanvin flats, i have to comment.

i LIVE in lanvin flats and have since a year and half. i used to wear heels all the time (and still do occasionally), but as soon as i bought my first pair - black leather, i was in love! they are the most comfortable shoes ever and they really suit my style. if you love flats too - you must get a pair.
as far as wear and tear - i have quite a few pairs ;) all purchased s/s 06 and f/w 06.
leather (black and silver/gold)
patent (turquoise, brown and black)
satin (yellow, red, green and violet)
and they are all in great shape. i did not even need to buy any for the s/s 07 season. i did put zipsoles on all of them and i did replace the heel of the zipsole this season - but i am in NYC a lot and walk a lot, so i give them a lot of wear. the yellow satin pair were really dirty, but i washed them and they look brand new.
the only pair that do not look great are the silver/gold as the metallic has worn off the leather. they don't look horrible - as they have a very lived in look, but in terms of wear and tear, they are the worst. otherwise the leather and patent get better with time.

i just received an email from satine and they have the best colors for fall....
pink patent, red patent, olive leather, brown/red leather, navy patent....the list goes on and on....
i hope this helps, but if you are thinking of getting a pair - do so. it will be $ well spent.

kare - i don't find the elastic to slip at all. i think it is important to make sure you have a good fit - better to go smaller than too big.

python lanvin flats! these sound amazing. i have seen the lizard, but i just couldn't justify $1k+ for flats.

hi again, vista - i apologize, i haven't been on this thread for awhile and just read back a bit (i should have done that b4 i posted - sorry). anyway, if you are on your feet 7-8 hours standing, you might not want flats. i fully support lanvin flats as the most comfortable flats, but for that kind of standing, maybe you want something with more support/arch.
....but you can still get a pair of lanvins for fun! ;)

There is something about all pairs of ballet flats that are out to sabotage your feet. I swear to God, every single pair is out to give you blisters on your heels and even begin to rub against the tops of your feet till they're nothing but dark red.

Is there any comfortable pair out there at all? Or, did I just need to wear in my own pair before getting angry at them?

Papa Lavente...
I feel the same way you do with ballet flats...however i still need them coz the end of the day they are way more comfy for me than heels in general...and makes me more mobile.
but a Lovely SA at Lanvin Singapore gave me this very useful advice...
i just realized that i have high arches(something i never noticed before:ninja:),
so ppl with high arches are more comfortable either with high heel shoes with the perfect arch for your feet,or open toe sandals.
"A pair of ballerinas would be very uncomfy for ppl with high arches because when you're in them, the high arches are forced to press down to the ground while your toes will expand, and blocked by the round toed shoes, extra painful if you have long toes like me.that's how you'll get blisters even though the shoes should be a perfect size for you,and eventhough they are Lanvins, which supposed to be the most comfy ballerinas ever,",
Her suggestion,is to buy ballet shoes at least half a size to 1 size bigger than our usual size, and put these gel arch support by Scholl(or any other brand),if your arches are supported, your feet wont expand to the front and back, which can cause you blisters,as you can see they are quite thick so you will need to get ballerinas half to 1 size up for your feet to be comfy with them in the shoes.
i HOPE this will help .
