This collection is awful, Balmain is the worst brand in the world, the most pretentious one and it's totally demodé.

Decarnin is the most overrated designer of this decade, what he's been doing at Balmain is just a joke, and apart from being overrated his garments are ridicously overpriced.

I really wanted to find something that I liked about this collection, but it's got to be one of the ugliest if not the ugliest things I've ever seen. I mean, even Roberto Cavalli is getting his act together and producing half-way decent clothes, but this was atrocious.

I think with those prices, none of us in this forum will ever touch a Balmain piece.... except the accessories. I'm pretty sure if someone buys one, they'll put BALMAIN in big extra bolded letters when they type so they can get their moneys worth.

Just get a Birkin, atleast it'll last forever.

I used to love Balmain, but Christophe got caught up in his own hype. But the Balmain hype seems to have faded now. All the trend whores think this is way too much!

^it still has editorial buzz, a significant red carpet presence, and -- i'm sure -- good sales once it actually hits the stores. let's not forget the economics of the pricing scheme here. for every ONE dress balmain sells, ordinary houses like gucci or prada have to sell five. for every shoe balmain sells, most of these houses have to sell three. they just DON'T have to sell as many to keep the same amount of money coming in. in that way, this stuff is genius.

you can't paint the entire collection with the same brush: those balmain strappy sandals, for example, will probably sell quite swiftly.

I really love the collection but seriously, the markup is just insane. It literally kills the excitement for me cuz its super unaffordable. 2K+ for a pair of jeans? I mean i understand that hes doing really really well cuz all of his stuff sold out soooo quickly but for us who have to save up a long time for 1k bag, that is just WAYYY out of our range. I first loved it so much til I see the price tags. I think im starting to turn to hate it now...

I don't think even Victoria Beckham would be willing to buy a 70k croc jacket. And they're only carrying one, and it's been up there for some time, so I'm guessing no one is buying it.

Seriously, just get a Hermes Birkin if you want to spend that amount of money.

Balmain is like the A&F of luxury fashion.
