Balmain S/S 2026 Paris

I wonder if Saint Laurent's Africa/Saharienne era was on the mood board. I really like the colours, but there is too much decoration and too many accessories. Some of the looks show impressive handiwork. All in all, serious improvement on recent Balmain collections. Sharper editing could really transform this.

A really strong collection. Can't remember the last time that I ever said that in relation to Olivier's work for Balmain. MAS really elevated everything with her touch. A great crossroads between wearable summer clothes and a high fashion vision. Those beaded looks and especially the final dress with seashells are kind of obvious but brilliant.

His textures are always impeccable when he works with them well. Even in his debut for Balmain he exhibited a know how to them. I just wish he wasn’t so heavy handed with it all. It’s all so weighted layered and dropped and swathing and dangling… doesn’t need to be this way.

First collection from him I’ve liked in a long while though. It’s a nice direction. Sick of beige this season, which isn’t his fault though.

Amazing! IM could never do that.

Olivier is really great to add this type of opulence. I think he just lost himself by being really unapologetic on his love for the 80s but once he is back to his sense, we can not deny his talent.

The collection which is for me the perfect example of his talent and ability is the fall 2012.

So i’ll always have a soft spot for him.

MAS came and made Olivier into a new man! Fabulous!

I can’t believe I’m saying it: I want to wear Balmain!

Bravo Olivier!

Even his Cleopatra haircut couldn't spoil this moment.

Look #33 consisting of head-to-toe purple-brown suede with curtain-tassel drawstrings gave me pause -- because it's terrible -- but everything else pretty much worked.

Rousteing did a whole bunch of "knotted rope" looks for menswear a decade ago, including a bunch of my favourite-ever outerwear pieces from this brand in F/W '14, but I can't recall if the womenswear that year had any of the same. It had a different vibe from this more boho-nautical tone, in any case.

Olivier outdid himself here. Finally! It's a great, rich Balmain collection with the Rousteing touch. The sand effect and the amethyst bustiers are works of art. I think it all blends together very nicely, from the comfy, slouchy pieces to the more elaborate ones like the beaded and seashells looks at the end. Quite impressive. I agree with @Fiercification "A great crossroads between wearable summer clothes and a high fashion vision." I mean, even the mussels bag look good! Who knew? Bravo Olivier!

Isabel Balmain. Better than Isabel Marant tho, kinda remind me of Vogue Paris 2009 with Daria in Morocco.

Not my type of fashion at all, but it looks desirable even. Very late 00s.

Who was the one coming out at the end of the show? Chemena Kamali?
