Bape clothing

My belief is that in 5 years wearing BAPE will be about as cool and trendy as wearing Hypercolor. As several others have mentioned, unless it RADICALLY alters its image and its type, it will certainly be a "here today, gone tomorrow."

p.s. In 5th grade, btw, I absolutely loved my Hypercolor shirt and wouldn't have traded it for Hermes.

what is hypercolor? lol

:woot: I think he means the 'thermo' t-shirts...where you'd put your hands on them and they'd change colour with your bodyheat...I really loved mine. They were hilarious.

^I had them in blue, pink and green - I had so much fun with those...then they one day stopped working - I think I didn't wash them correctly....

Yes, exactly! lol! :p

The demise of everybody's Hypercolor... the washing! They looked great until you had to wash them and then... well... it became a regular tshirt with an odd color combination (mine was originally grey/blue that turned pink, it then became a muddy, greyish purple).

Anyway, I guess it just shows my age because many of the members here probably weren't born when these were popular (not to say that those of us who know them are old ((after all, 15 years ago isn't long))... it's just that there's lots of youngsters around here). ;)

im 17 lol

Oh MAN Hypercolor shirts were so sweet!

It's true... I didn't know well enough to hand-wash it... one toss into the dryer and it was done for.

::searching ebay for a working one now::

Ah, Hypercolor... I felt soo badass in that stuff.

Albert, I'm so glad to see that you had one too!

Andrew, lol, you're so right about feeling badass in Hypercolor! I did the same. In elementary school, I was far from athletic (okay, I was skinny, pale, and hated to get dirty), but I remember distinctly embarassing the hell out of myself trying to play basketball just so that I would get hot enough to make the shirt change colors.

The coolness of my shirt was negated by the incredible lameness of my basketball skills. I disctincly recall, "Man, you suck! Nice shirt, though."

Kids can be so mean... :(

John

p.s. what a way to de-rail a thread. But, it isn't like BAPE is really worth too much of our time or consideration (haha).

Do any of you know if they make BAPE hoodies for girls? I've seen some sweaters, but they were plain and boring looking. I'm basically looking for their typical colorful and cartoon-y hoodies made for girls-if they have any.

Dont hate appreciate.

i appreciate all of the bape, bapesta, a bathing ape clothing..b/c in a time where the little guy(nigo) wouldnt make it in the corporate world.. he did it and did it big. just hard work and knowing what he wanted to see. He has made some remarkable garmets..and its not like every1 elses sh*t..
