Bat for Lashes

i really would suggest everybody gets the special edition of two suns...there's a gloriously epic live early version of daniel(along with other beautiful live pieces) that was performed in nimes when they were on tour with radiohead. it's very different....more melancholic, epic and cinematic.

^ I think I'll order it online...Every record shop I walk into only seems to stock the standard edition :( I'm sure it'll be worth the extra cash!

she is my new obsession!! i cant stop listening to Daniel, my gosh there's something about that song!!! its a drug.

heres her cover of Lullaby by the Cure along with a string quartet:

^have you heard all of the new covers she's been performing?

Oh Natasha Khan  I shall profess a marriage offering to thee! :P I'm dying to see her perform live *sigh*

^me too!!!! i just have to see her live!!! I HAVE TO!!!!!!

^have you heard all of the new covers she's been performing?

ooohh thanks for those!!!:woot: i also am in love with her cover of "Im on Fire"

Thank you Scott for the videos, they are lovely!

Just saw this on the website.. I don't care for Twilight but I'm excited to hear the song.

Bat for Lashes to appear on new Twilight s/t

Bat for Lashes has collaborated with Beck on a track exclusively for the new Twilight film ‘Eclipse’.
The song ‘Let’s Get Lost’ is drenched in Beck’s signature lo-fi electronics, with both Bat and Beck duetting Natasha’s lyrics over atmospheric synths and dramatic beats.
The full soundtrack will be available on Atlantic from 8 June, with the film itself on general release from 30 June.

and she collaborated with beck....sounds really interesting!

yeah i don't care for the twilight either but i did like lykke li's track from the new moon s'track and thom yorke's contribution as well.

and you're welcome everybody!

For such below mediocre films, the soundtracks have quite a stellar lineup! I cannot wait to hear the track either :buzz:

i feel like its about time we heard a new tune....it's a cover but it's still so glowingly BFL....j'adore

and natasha does the best covers, imo.

^
brilliant cover as always!

attention all bat for lashes fans! Ive just heard the most beautiful cover of "Daniel" by Paul Demspey

enjoy! :flower:

Awesome cover! Shame Natasha isn't doing much touring this year :(

natasha performed a new tune back in june while performing at the sydney opera house. i love it....it's like a melding of both fur & gold and two suns in one song....only more sensual and sexier. in fact i really love how with every new track or cover she does it flows into each other. and she's very kate bush her in this red dress.....reminds me of her red shoes era.

apparently it's called 'oh yeah' which i hope is only a working title.

^ I was actually there that same night! It was quite easily one of the best nights of my life. She is even more sublime live. Love the song too :buzz::innocent:

Can't wait!

Bat For Lashes will return later this year, with new album 'The Haunted Man' due on October 15th.

One of the most furiously inventive talents at work in British music today,
Bat For Lashes - real name Natasha Khan - has been silent for too long. Stirring back into life, the songwriter has confirmed plans for her third studio album, the artist's first blast of new material in almost three years.

'The Haunted Man' will be released on October 15th, with Bat For Lashes playing an intimate show in Cambridge tonight. No word yet on tracklisting, although Natasha Khan is also set to perform at Latitude and Bestival this summer.

Looking ahead, Bat For Lashes has confirmed a full British tour this October. Opening, somewhat incongruously, in the Scottish Highlands, Natasha Khan is set to play Inverness Ironworks on October 18th.

Hitting Edinburgh, the songwriter will then play Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds and more. Bat For Lashes will play Norwich on October 26th, with the tour stretching around the country before ending in Brighton on November 4th.

This is good to see! Gosh it doesn’t seem like three years since I saw her in concert last. A new album and a tour…I was getting concerned that her only appearance this year would be at a few obscure festivals.
