I have a large foot size (39) but a small calf. ALL tall boots do not fit my small calves. I love boots, but for this reason I can't buy any.

Please, any suggestions???
I'm looking for a perfect designer pair....

Thanks B)

Hmmm.....how about Jimmy Choos or Louboutin boots? I have extremely small calves too and most non-desginer tall boots do not fit me for that reason. I just bought a pair of Choo and Louboutin boots this season and they fit perfectly and when I tucked them in with jeans, it is pretty tight fitting. Hope this helps.

Indeed designer boots help.... I haven't tried Choo or Louboutin boots, but thanks. I'll keep an eye open for a pair. I bought a pair of Sigerson Morrison wrap boots in Paris this year. They fit well because they wrap around the leg (difficult to explain).

My calves are 12 inches around, and most boots are at minimum 15 inches.... It's a terrible dilema, eh?

A number of Prada boots are very narrow as well.

You can also look for boots that have a shaft made of leather backed with lycra. Such boots fit any size calf and are tremendously comfortable.

You can get the calves taken in by a good cobbler.

i second that!
i'm a size 8 w/ skinny ankles.. have had boots taken in by cobbler. worth it.

also: boots with laces (ie. real laces so you can tighten your boot shaft) are best. even more so if there are buckles at the top.. if that's your kinda thing.

Simple zip-up boots are more likely to still be too big in the shaft. ditto for slip on boots.

I've tried lycra/leather boots... These just fall down around my ankles. Quite amusing actually.

I don't have a good shoe doctor here where I live. I'll have to find one... I just don't trust any old person with $1500 boots.... :(

pull on boots with an elastic panel are a good solution..

i have a pr from prada(flat) and one from walter steiger(stiletto)..
the leather keeps them up...but the elastic keeps them narrow...

good luck...:flower:...

also...vintage boots are very narrow...
vintage charles jourdan if you can find them are divine....
[n]resurrection in nyc[/n] has some that have never been worn!!!...
:woot:...

Have you tried Valentinos or Louboutins? You can always try custom-made boots...Pls visit www.jean-gaborit.com. I have had purchased a couple of pairs of custom made boots from them with good success!
