This isn't a "real" flat but ... I love Hercule Poirot's Art deco flat in the Hercule Poirot's series. It's called Florin Court and is located at Charterhouse Square in London and I plan to see it one day ^_^.

Here's a drawing of what "Whitehaven Mansions" (the name of the flat in the books) should've looked like according to Agatha Christie's informations.(from http://www.chez.com/herculepoirot/)

That's the building (from http://www.artdecolondon.com/ex4.html, http://www.london-footprints.co.uk/Photos/florinct.jpg, http://www.ne.jp/asahi/yokomoon/england/engwhiteheaven.htm)

Art deco houses and flats were mostly owned by the rich or members of the middle classes, although there was some municipal rented housing built in the style. This section looks at examples of both middle- and upper-class properties. Florin Court, designed by Guy Morgan and Partners and opened in 1936, is an impressive deco apartment block, and the fictional home of the TV detective Hercules Poirot. It has an undulating exterior and a roof garden, and in the 1980s a retro deco basement swimming pool was built. Unfortunately, the deco foyer was tiled over in the 1980s.
I didn't find clear pictures of the interior but you can see the art deco style in these pictures (http://www.needcoffee.com/html/dvd/images/poirot12_1.jpg)

went to an open house @ this place this morning....
a terrace in woollahra, sydney....
the owner is an artist....she has her work throughout the home....

it is beautifully done.....their use of space is incredible.....
lots of little nooks & crannies that have been utilized beautifully...
it is far more incredible in person, the pictures do it no justice, but i wanted to share anyway.....

the little details are the best...
things she has hung behind the staircase.....little goldfish in a bowl in the courtyard out the front...
not visible in the pictures, but just beautiful

Estella Mare this is a truly beautiful thread and the handmade house is sooo gorgeous, oddly reminds me of alice in the wonderland :)

adorefaith the house is wonderful. seems like they did so much with a small space. each and every furniture piece seem to have a story. very eclectic.

A beautiful life starts with a beautiful home.

adorefaith OMG what a house!! Absolutely stunning!

Occasionaly I browse the real estate sites locally to see whats for sale around the city, and this one really caught my eye! The setting is the main part of it, the openness, out into the world. On top of the world!

Oh my GAWD. The houses are beautiful.

The only thing is, I wonder about the safety of glass houses. Can't you just throw a rock and break in?

I really like beautiful custom homes. I wish I had some pictures to share. Hopefully I will soon!
