Prize for Passion

Yet again a Belgian fashion student won a prize at an international competition for emerging designers. This time the lucky fellow was Jérèmy Dhennin, who studied at La Cambre in Brussels and who won the Sisley/Benetton Award at the 12th edition of Mittelmoda, in Grado/Italy. The prize is given for the most passionate and easy to wear collection (remember those Terry Richardson ads, anyone?) and comprises of 3500 euros and an internship. OK, he has to share the prize with Swedish talent Richard Lindqvist, but still...Hurray for Belgium!

I think henrik is alot better, but isee what you mean by the sporty influences

it's ok, i like it but it dosn't do much for me

That and the overall styling of it all is quite similar in vein.

Not horrible though. I think maybe a bit redundant in regards to the sweatshirty stuff which I am so tired with.

you are welcome ...as usual alex... :flower:

Beat me too it, I was going to say Vibskov + Helmut Lang.

Looks like Brussels is catching up to Antwerp, doesn't it?

I hope so. What I really hope for,is that the cirriculum at La Cambre is changing a bit. There's always been too much emphasis on just the technical rather than a combination of technique and most importantly, identity. Its the reason why Olivier Theyskens dropped out of that school;because he hated the system there. Since Linda Loppa took control of FFI in the early 80's,it was and is her goal for the students to have that. Brussels was never able to churn out the talent like Antwerp has for that very reason,I think.

I like the cut and design (somewhat identical but I guess it's a signature style) but not the colors and textures. Very Christmas tree(ish). Anyhow this guy is an amateur so good luck to him!:D
