Hi! I highly recommend "If You're Feeling Sinister". Their song "Fox in the Snow" is one of their most emotional and heartbreaking (IMO) songs (on par with "The Chalet Lines" and "We Rule the School").

One thing that I love about them is their strings arrangement, especially on the songs "The Model" and "Take Your Carriage Clock and Shove It".

I'm glad that I finally saw them live at their FIRST gig in Austria ever!! they are great! everybody was dancing and singing...

These guys are absolutely wonderful! I fell in love with them ever since I first heard their album "Boy With The Arab Strap" in the early 90s. I immediately purchased every album and CD single from them after. I'm always looking forward to something they come up with, and I never get disappointed.

that album came out in 1998 i believe.

i love 'if you're feeling sinister', it's by far their best album. i don't think they've made anything as good since. they had a few years after boy with the arab strap - right after stuart david left the band - where it felt like they were recycling their old stuff and had no direction, and lately they seem to be improving. i hope it lasts. they are definitely a great band.
also some of the songs from the 'storytelling' soundtrack were quite pretty.

I really enjoyed it...especially cos they were the last one to play at the last day of the festival...it was 2am and I was freezing but they made me feel soooo happy!

One of my friends was lucky enought to go on tour with them around the states and Europe. Sarah was such a doll, and because she remembered my fashion illustrations she asked me to design a special limited edition t-shirt for their Hollywood Bowl show in Los angeles this summer. I was so excited that I handcolored in 200 t-shirts. She was so nice and called me before they went on stage to make sure that I not only got in to the show ok but that I also received a backstage pass for the after party. Seeing them perform under the stars with the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra was amazing-

thank you so much! I wish I would've made more cause I never even got to keep one--ha ha. I was so nervous making sure they were done right that I never made extra. Oh well the show made up for not having a shirt. It was so great- all the orchestra players...with harps and cellos etc...backing them up. It's like taking an already amazing band and giving them bionic sounds.

My friend who went on tour with them-used to keep a funny blog on typepad of his adventures with Belle and Sebastian. There are some great backstage photos from Feb-April of this past year. The band seems so nice in relation to meeting fans and taking pics etc...
