Ben Folds

i did a search and didn't find a thread on ben folds. does anyone here listen to him? or have you seen him live?
i saw him on the odd man out tour, with ben lee and rufus wainwright. he opened for wainwright, and played from songs for silverman mostly, but he did play not the same and the luckiest as well. it was serously the best performance i've ever seen in my entire life. i freaking love ben folds so much!

I love Ben Folds and Ben Folds Five. I saw Ben open for Weezer last summer and I can honestly say it changed my life. He played a lot of songs from Silverman since it had just come out, but he also played some Ben Folds Five stuff (one angry dwarf yea!!!) My favorite was when he played The Luckiest. That's so gonna be my wedding song one day!

velouria, i can't believe you saw him open for weezer, which happens to be my other favorite (although i prefer blue and pinkerton to the stuff they've put out lately). and he did ben folds five stuff. that must have been one hell of a concert!

and in addition to brick i would recommend his current album,songs for silverman, which isn't so much hardcore guitar/bass/drums as a lot of the ben folds five albums were.

There's also "Fair", "Carrying Cathy", "Gracie" (a song he did about his daughter, so you know it's a sweet song), and "Still" (which is on the Cars Soundtrack).

Ben Folds opened for Rufus Wainwright?! That had to be one fantablous show!

I've been listening to Ben Folds Five/Ben Folds since I was about 14 (am 23 now)...I absolutely adore him and his music!

i know it's kinda cheesy but i've always wanted to walk down the aisle to "the luckiest."
and the concert was amazing, especially when rufus and ben did "careless whisper" together. rufus was kind of boring in concert, though. i mean, he was hilarious, making all these observations about being so obviously gay in the center of the bible belt (i live in oklahoma), but i don' think his stuff translates well to a live concert. especially not following ben folds.
but when ben did 'not the same," at the part where the audience usually does the backup vocals, he made us sing 'ruuuuuuuuuuuufus" instead of "ahhhhhhahhhhhhhhhh." it was pretty awsm.
