OK, Im gonna go out on a limb, and say I hate this guys clothes! The only collection of his I *somewhat* liked was the one w/ the dinosaur prints from his womenswear collection, and even that one, I was like, "Hmmm." Dont get me wronng, I like his IDEAS, but his clothes definitely piss me off when I see them.

thanks for the rest of the pics cerfas...:flower:

i stand by my original assessment...

I am sorry but I really think this is quite hideous. thanks for posting cerfas though!

I agree. Fun ideas, hideous clothes.

This is the most beautiful collection I have seen in four years. It is strong enough to change people's lives. I don't get how some of you think it is hideous.Way to go Bernhard!

You're welcome jennifer
haruki, in my opinion, Willhelm's objective is to slightly repel us (or maybe just shock us...like I said, the painted faces especially add to this), and that's probably why some people have a strong reaction against the runway show. There are clearly items that, examined alone or seen on the street, are stunning. Like the cut of that blue velvety skirt, that is very visually striking. In my view, he's also gone really deep into his own world and doesn't seem concerned with being particularly reachable. There are people to whom this show appeals, even though they may not be posting in this forum.

my god, BW is going from bad to worst.. hate this collection, it was painful to see, even online

on the point of 'shocking' us he has certainly succeded, bad clothes for the shake of it.. please this is not 1998, wake up Bernhard, we had enough, get back in shape man

I think it was fun and funny. I've seen closeup images from the showroom and the prints are amazing, the use of faux fur is witty, and there are some truly novel and interesting pieces. I don't think he's trying to shock. Bernhard has an innate love for kitsch and I think his relaxed approach to fashion is entirely refreshing.

Don't forget the irony,Metal

I truly adore Bernhard's vision and his humour but lately I have been kind of disappointed in his direction. I thought perhaps we would begin to see a slightly different Bernhard after last season's wonderful collection. As a whole,I'm not as drawn to this kind of stuff as in the past. My favorite collections of his are those of the beginning of his career--A/W 99 - A/W 01(the dung beatle collection).

But I think taken apart, there's almost always something there he does brilliantly....so I don't consider it as haenous.

Well, if anything, I think that's the part that kinda bothers me about his work. I think irony is really yesterday's news. Even the most staunch Williamsburgers have stopped wearing those silly mesh caps. And I'm not into the whole "it's so bad it's good" look. Despite that, Bernhard's work is still creative, innocent, special, and personal. That's where the appeal lies for me.

I agree,Metal.

I think that's what kind of has put me off,of late. His collections aren't as dreamy as they used to be when he was in Antwerp. Whether that has anything to do with the enviroment he's in now,I don't know? You think so?

I totally agree with Lena... I liked his collections from before better. this is just scary.
