Music In The Movies

Movies wouldn't be where theyre at without the right score or song. Which in particular strike yor fancy?

Todd Rundgren - Can We Still Be Friends? - Vanilla Sky
The Part where David is suffocating Cameron Diaz' character who is supposedly acting like Sophia...he lifts his hand off "Cameron Diaz' chest and discovers that little heart shaped mole which means it was actually Sophia all along!
When this song starts playing oh man! what a great moment! it totally throws off the betrayal we feel as an audience.
(This song was also in Dumb&Dumber but i prefer it in The Vanilla Sky Context)

The Pixies - Where Is My Mind - Fight Club
Perfect scene as the buildings are exploding and Jack is standing there with Marla with his jaw half shot off.

Simon & Garfunkel - America - Almost Famous
It makes sense as the older sister is leaving. and a really quiet beautiful song in general.

Nico - These Days - The Royal Tenebaums
It Doesnt Get More Right Than This..When Margot steps off the bus and opens her mouth, the music starts playing, and then the violins are shredding as the cruise crew march in back of Ritchie..it all fits.

I love Where is my mind in Fight Club too... whoever chose the music for that movie is a genius.

Harry Nilsson - Everybody's Talkin' - Midnight Cowboy

Simon and Garfunkel - Scarborough Fair - The Graduate

Derek And The Dominos - Layla - Goodfellas
creepy creepy as the dead guys all show up

The Rolling Stones - She Smiled Sweetly/Ruby Tuesday - Royal Tenenbaums
the sweetness in the those songs fit the sweetness of the scene inside the tent with Ritchie and Margot

I agree.
There was also Goin Out West by Tom Waits in there, just wasnt on the soundtrack. But it doesnt get more masculine/tough then that song.

The whole Royal Tenenbaums Soundtrack is just very fitting

Wes Anderson and Cameron Crowe know how to incorporate songs really well.

Requeim for A Dream - the entire soundtrack to that movie just fits it perfectly:heart:

Composed by Clint Manshell

A vote for the whole soundtrack - and that of Mean Streets, of which I was also reminded...

I like the Vanilla Sky soundtrack a lot. I still pull it out every once in a while.

I like the scores from Angela's Ashes and The Red Violin. very moving.

Scorcese is a genius
but when it comes to his music it's all about Robbie Robertson formerly from The Band who chooses all the music.

yeah You can just listen to it while lying on the floor and it's great^_^

the goldberg variations used to great effect in (the internationally overlooked french film) stupeur et tremblements (fear and trembling).

and don't forget tarentino knows how to pick a soundtrack

Jon Brion and The I Heart Huckabees soundtrack was as pastel and beautiful as the movie itself

The Amelie Soundtrack is beautiful and fits the movie really well^_^

Pink Flyod the wall - goes with the film as well Also same title of the album ( the Wall):D

Lou Reed - A Perfect Day - Trainspotting

Remember the overdose scene...

These two are perfect examples. The music for both movies was spot on.
One scene that sticks in my mind was from Master and Commander where Yo Yo Ma's version of Bach's suite 1 in G major played as they came in sight of the Galapagos islands.
