Simon and Garfunkel - Scarborough Fair - The Graduate

I like The Graduate soundtrack so much, also:

Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson

the blower's daughter- Damien Rice for the soundtrack of "Closer" amazing!!

in the mood for love

chungking express (mamas and the papas!)

harold and maude -- cat stevens

all the movies by quentin tarantino would be nothing without the music I love the soundtrack of Kill Bill Vol.1 and Vol.2 , Pulp Fiction , Jackie brown

also Requiem for a dream has a great soundtrack!

I looove the Garden State soundtrack. It's so perfect for the movie. All the Shins songs ("You gotta hear this one song, it will change your life, I promise you."- about "New Slang"). And "Let Go" by Frou Frou - I love love love that song... also love "Don't Panic" by Coldplay - it's basically what inspired me to buy Parachutes. And "In the Waiting Line" by Zero 7 is gorgeous. It also had "The Only Living Boy in New York" by Simon & Garfunkel- in the part where they're on that tractor while it's raining and Andrew and Sam kiss for the first time. Gosh I love this movie. Basically, I highly recommend getting this soundtrack if you haven't already. Very good for when you just want to relax and mellow out.

Awww, I saw two that I really agree with -

"Tiny Dancer", Elton John - Almost Famous
"The Blower's Daughter", Damien Rice - Closer

and some others that were pretty mainstream at the time, but I just love...

"If You Were Here", Thompson Twins - Sixteen Candles
"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", U2 - Batman Forever... that song gets me going every single time
"Secret Garden", Bruce Springsteen - Jerry Maguire

I love: Everybody's gotta learn sometimes-Beck,from Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless mind

I adore soundtracks, and usually, if I buy a cd, it's some soundtrack.at the moment, my favourites are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the music they used in In the Cut.gotta find the last one from somewhere.

Elliott Smith - Needle in the Hay --- Royal Tenenbaums when Richie tries to kill himself...it's a perfect song for such a beautifully melancholic scene

Rebekah Del Rio - Llorando (Crying) --- Mullholland Drive when "Betty" and "Rita" go to the Silencio night club and the woman sings her heart out....wow

I totally loved the music from the Wicker Park movie. Strange & Beautiful by Aqualung, Maybe Tommorrow by Stereophonics and ESPECIALLY, The Scientist by Coldplay:heart: ..So many goods songs from that movie! All make me cry!

'what a feelin'' from flashdance ..oncw heard you can't get the tune out of your head for the next week....

serge gainsbourg - cannabis ( esp. the instrumental version) ( orignial soundtrack cannabis )
nelson riddle - lolita ye-ye ( original soundtrack lolita (kubrick ) )
air - playground love ( orignial score virgin suicides )

i love old soundtracks that include movie exerpts such as lolita, (naturally a clip of this is on my voicemail) and valley of the dolls. i like the henry mancini stuff like pink panther as well, and blow up ( herbie hancock ) too . and of course music themes movies tommy, the wall, quadrephenia, rocky horror, saturday night fever, rocknroll high school etc.

I agree with everything you've said!! I also eternal sunshine, i heart huckabees, and the life aquatic soundtrack.

Elliott Smith's songs in Good Will Hunting. Yann Tierson's music for Good Bye Lenin and Amelie... and (blushes) the Clueless Soundtrack has always been a favourite of mine! I agree about The Garden State Soundtrack, but I already have The Shins album and the Nick Drake one so I don't really feel I can justify buying it!
