It was a very pleasant surprise to see Bhumika at Chanel! I could be wrong -- I can't recall if Ujjwala ever walked for Chanel -- but I think the last time a model of South Asian descent walked for Chanel was when Yasmeen Ghauri was a house favourite in the '90s.

Yes, I remember the Prefall 2012 show, but tbh I don't really count that because it seemed like obligatory casting to me (it would have been gauche even for Chanel if they'd had an Indian-themed collection and not had a single South Asian model in it).
