Hi all,

I happened to notice in a talkshow dated back to 1988/1989 that the recently revived styling of pairing a slim-fitting blazer or tuxedo jacket with jeans and off-white dress shirt, and perhaps with sneakers and a black thin necktie as well, as in Dior Homme, for example, was indeed a trend in the 1980s. Could anyone advise the designer who or brand which carried and advocated this styling in the 1980s?

Thanks.

it wasn't so much a brand as a trend....it came mostly from the eighties musicians...
people weren't such label whores back then and didn't slavishly follow fashion...

MTV was a huge influence on popular culture though and people wore what they saw bands and artists wearing in music videos...that look specifically reminds me of that band 'the cars'...

most people just bought stuff like that at the mall...
