Books and their homes....

Here's how I have my books stored. Kind of boring, I know. But at this point I'm just glad I have enough space to put my favorite books on display. I have lots more that I have to keep in a locker. My dream is to have a huge library someday, like the ones in post #251

^I like it, it's straightforward and simple but it looks good, sleek even :flower:

I'm running out of room on my bookshelf again. :innocent:

^^Amazing, yet rather unstable looking, no? That would make me nervous. If it collapsed it would likely damage some of the books, and I don't like seeing books abused. :ninja: I'm quite sensitive about it, I tell others to treat their books well ... unless they're some trashy novel, in that case ...

Hmm... these are wonderful but sadly theres the Kindle and Ipad that will replace all those lovely book displays

^ They never will for me. I still love the feeling of holding a physical book in my hand and turning the pages one by one. ^_^

Couldn't have said it better myself! I was thinking the same when I read the post above yours, and then I scrolled down, relieved to see I'm not the only one who feels this way. ^_^ Plus, who could truly enjoy browsing someone's Kindle or iPad library? A tangible library though? Lovely to look through, and reveals much about its owner.

saw this on apartment therapy, thought of this thread

^I love that... It's actually something that I could see myself having, and using... Thanks for posting. :flower:

^ 2nd photo: I don't think I could sleep with books over my head. I'd be too scared of them falling down on me. lol. I like the third one though.

but...how do you reach the books in the front of the pic?

I wonder this in regards to numerous book shelf collections I've seen that reach to such a height or are in such a position that it looks rather dangerous to take a book of the shelf! Which makes me kind of sad, because it means the books likely aren't being read or looked at much, and I think good books should be, and if they're not good books, give them away or donate them. ^_^
