Boss S/S 2023 Miami

Mash-up of other designers’ archives mixed with all the people easily recognisable by the Gen Z in a location that is supposed to generate clicks and views.

In French, I will say « C’est naze! ». If anyone speaking French as the perfect translation, feel free. (it sucks seems not enough) :grinningwsweat:

I prefer generic classy Boss not this wannabe high fashion brand version that looks sloppy. High fashion brands also need to learn to dress curve models or just give up and leave it to those that do.

If this was supposed to be elegant, it failed big time.

Not DJ Khalid walking before Naomi like he’s some sorta big deal for the Boss clientele. I applaud this for this absurd choice, it made me laugh. Clothes are a non-event, it’s the usual Boss offering.

This is a chop. Cast, design, set, everything. Chop it down.

It just makes absolutely no sense to what Boss usually is about with its classic appeal to its clientele. The random sleeve inserts and early Margiela-isms are very, very desperate. A confusing mess to look at because nothing connects at all.

So many questionable choices from the styling to the casting. It's like they can't decide whether they want to be high fashion, classic and elegant or young and cool. Also, can we stop with the sheer socks and sock garters, it looks really costume-y.

Hate to say it but the casting makes it look so run-down and pedestrian.
There's a reason models get paid well to do runway; they make it look GOOD!

Hugo Boss has recently embarked on a new rebranding and market positioning, mainly to target a lower-end market tier. Keeping that in mind, it's clear that a show like this is purely for marketing sake and does not represent the majority of product in store - I wouldn't be surprised if most of these looks were not even put into production.

It surprises me until today why a brand like this does not focus on showing realistic and desirable clothes that feel timely and instead put on a show like this that does nothing to modernize the brand - A lot of designers from Alexandre Mattiussi to Kris van Assche, Nicolas Andreas Taralis, Kostas Murkudis or Paul Surridge (who had just been snatched up by Loro Piana) would have been good for this brand...

The clothes look like they were stolen from a dry cleaner before they were cleaned and torn while getting away :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
Terrible casting as well :vomiting: save for Naomi
