Bottega Veneta S/S 2012 Milan

I wasn't too keen on the full length dresses at the end.

BUT! I very much liked the brighter colours, the short dresses throughout (especially the little spate of black ones), and the denim. Surprisingly, some of the distressed denim looked very cool, even hip-hop-like. I wouldn't really expect that from this brand.

I'm totally in love with the colorful accessories! I want one of those cuffs, and those orange shoes, and the clutch with the colorful details... so refreshing! I better start saving up

This is gorgeous. The color palette is sublime and I'm glad the bare midriff trend is nowhere to be seen.
I'm glad to see a cohesive collection that's not only intriguing/complex but also flattering.
Kudos

The purple colour used in some of the outfits is quite enriching combined with indigo, jeans and leatherblack. I also liked the red dress on Abbey, great detail.

such a fantastic work !! colors, especially blue, are stunning. materials, especially leather pieces, are so strong. fabric, on each pieces, looks just so great !

Some of it looks a bit poorly made, but it's certainly beautiful. The thing I love about Bottega Veneta is that it makes fashion so easy and effortless for women. They rarely ever make anything that's too difficult to wear, but their collections still have loads of personality and attitude.

I didn't notice this ... I've never seen anything of theirs that wasn't well made, including prototypes for the runway (have seen these at trunk show). Their quality is really impeccable ... the heels come with an extra pair of heel taps (which I've never had to use). I did notice in one of the shots how perfect the button holes on a jacket sleeve looked ...

Love some of the colors here!!

The only quality issue I've noticed has been in the fit of certain shoes.

I don't know why, but it reminds me of my favorite collection of Bettega Veneta - Fall/Winter 2008

This collection is so gorgeous

I'm not sure how I feel about this, I love the colors, the textures and the slightly more sexual vibe but some of this just looks poorly fitted and a bit messy.

Can anyone explain to me the opening of lines of Nicole Phelps' Style.com review of this collection? She writes:

Today's Bottega Veneta show, according to Tomas Maier, was about technology and handicrafts coming together. That puts it in close company with his collection for Spring, but where that one seemed to be rooted in the 1960's, this had its inspiration in the present.

But isn't this his collection for Spring?
