Bottega Veneta S/S 2014 Milan | the Fashion Spot

Bottega Veneta S/S 2014 Milan

a solid show, nothing special there are some pretty looks but that's it really

Love love love the opening parachute trench-dress(?) look...

Well, that was nice. I can't say I perked up for any look, but it was a good collection.

A thousand times YES! Whilst not every look was perfect, I really have to say that I love the overall vibe of the collection. The ruching of the fabric gave off a slightly CdG F/W 2008 vibe, but it was handled in typical Meier fashion so he made it all his own.

Love the range of colours from muted brown to deep ocean blue. Love when he plays with silhouettes. Sometimes it doesn't work, but those finale dresses looked amazing, especially the closing look .

I enjoyed the show, I do think it's a little heavy but I liked his use of volume.

^ Agreed! It's definitely too heavy, that's a lot of fabric to haul around, even on these models who have large frames. It's pretty, but no wow factor.

What's up with EVERY damn designer this season triying to cover us in layers and layers of everything, aint nobody thinking bout global warming??

This kinda seems messy and cumbersome. He really needed to trim some of the ruffles and frills.

Amazing as always, the clothes are divine!! the shape was great yet impeccably stylish.

I am a sucker for dark romance so I liked this collection in general; it was pretty to look at.

However, I agree with others who've noted that while these voluminous cuts may come off rather well on models, they may not work so well on your average consumer. Maybe they'll tone down the volume for the stores?

Lovely. It's really great that we can rely on Bottega Veneta to consistently bring us gorgeous, classy, easy womanswear. The silhouettes are lovely, I enjoy the dark colours: it's just more wearable than a lot of the pastel crap designers try to shove on us in the spring collections. Well done, love it.

I can totally see what you mean. The last dress looks bloody amazing on someone with Esther Heesch's figure, but not sure it would work on a less lean body type. Same principle goes for the voluminous pieces (the hedge dress ).

I'd imagine they'll be modified before hitting stores though, as you said!
