I'm sure in twenty years time people will be looking back at this advert and remembering all the 'iconic creative talent' that went into Bella prancing around a warehouse pretending to be a big cat with a bulky handbag.
Bella looks good - I could picture her as a spy dressed in skintight black clothing, moving like a shadow around the industrial landscape. The interpretive dance does nothing for me.
How do they consistently get it wrong? None of these shots focus on the bag or the brand or even succeed in making it look desirable. It's like a try-hard editorial in W magazine under Sara Moonves.
Tonchi's Burberry is up there next to Raf's CK of designer hires that may have seemed good on paper but not in practice.
Seriously, the campaign itself is not bad...But What is that BAG?
I hope it sells well in Asia to deserve a campaign because this is the most horrendous bag I’ve ever seen.
The first shoot reminds me the glory days of Playboy where the models were always feeling horny!
If they want to pay homage to Helmut Newton, they should have done it in a way that combined beauty and eroticism.
As for the bag, it is a typical homework bag for your kids.
I'm trying really hard to figure out what is good or aspirational about this. Hand to god the whole thing feels so cringy and amateur. It reminds me of a high school photography project... the one where you got your pretty friend to molest a statue in the name of "art".
