Carl Larsson's house

i recently saw an exhibition of carl larsson's (one of my childhood favourites) work here in munich were they had also recreated rooms of his house. he and his wife karin developed a very special style that became well known and is still influential today (last but not least through ikea)

the light and warm tones and the mixture of decoration and clear shapes are so appealing

I love it. The drawing room is my favorite.

I agree, I think the Larssons really has had a tremenduous influence on Swedish style. The simplicity and use of colours and fabrics. Many of the furniture and fabrics were really traditional even at his time (you can see a lot of 18th century influences and "folk art" for instance). It was a clear break from the stuffy, velvety, heavy homes of the time.
