Hollywood Collection: Cary Grant, THE LEADING MAN

Cary Grant was the very essence of a movie star: a man every woman loved and every man wanted to be. His deft comic style merged easily with his strength as a romantic leading man. But the suave exterior concealed a complex and often sensitive individual. Cary's painful journey from his lonely working-class beginnings to the peak of Hollywood royalty is made vivid through family photos, archival footage, clips from many of his films -- including his first, following his discovery by blonde bombshell Mae West, starring role in She Done Him Wrong. Other movies include His Girl Friday, Notorious, An Affair To Remember, To Catch A Thief, North By Northwest, Charade, and more. Among friends and colleagues interviewed on-screen are Leslie Caron, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr, Deborah Kerr, Eva Marie Saint, Ralph Bellamy, Stanley Donen, Richard Brooks and Stanley Kramer. Narrated by Richard Kiley.

Aww cute pics Kochie! :) One of the things I really love about him is that he crafted his own image - I mean, it was really him who put all the work into his wardrobe, not some stylist, he had all these tricks and everything. Very smart guy, and so adorable and funny too

Monte Carlo 1939...The man knew how to live- Always stayed at the Plaza when in NY...God knows how much money I spent there over the years because I had to go there for brunch or a cocktail just because he would have gone there...!! And let's not even start on the custom made shirts and all... ;)

On 59th St outside of the aforementioned Plaza Hotel with Hitchcock filming North By Northwest..Cary wearing the only good looking sack suit ever made, by Quintino of Beverly Hills, of course...There's an interesting story about this famous glen plaid suit, if anyone wants to hear it... ^_^

As above...The original tan-master- although he credits Douglas Fairbanks Sr, whom he met as a young performer, as getting him into always keeping a tan... In later years he found out having a deep tan meant needing hardly any make up for his films, which he hated wearing...^_^
