I think she damaged her 'brand' quite a bit a couple years ago. So while if she hadn't taken time off she most likely wouldn't have to go to castings, thanks to what happened, she's not at that level.

RE castings, a lot of top and well-known models still have to go to them, but they don't usually have to wait hours in line like newcomers. It's sort of like a check-up, so the designers and casting agents can see if the model still looks like she did for the last show/will suit the trend this season.
