In only her third collection, Chelsea Goldman has a clear vision for her CF. Goldman label. “I want to bring a European sensibility into New York-produced pieces and into the contemporary market,” she said. Influenced by Céline, where she had her first design job out of college, Goldman cuts generously languid silhouettes that are meant to appeal to the art crowd and to “women who dress for women.”

This season specifically, Goldman explored Lucio Fontana’s slashing-and-cutting concept. Linen canvas dresses, wide-leg pants, tunics and tops featured cutout fringe hems to crafty effect. Elsewhere, a cool coral tone tunic/short dress featured hand-stitching detail and oversize cuffs. “We needed short skirts. The challenge was making them in a new way, not sexy,” Goldman explained. The result: color-blocked styles — in coral, tan and creme — in irregular cuts paired with a wide top in simple linen.
