Chanel '25' Handbag 2025 : Dua Lipa by David Sims & Gordon von Steiner

LOL 6 months ago Versace hired a super senior manager in order to revive the dead PR / celebs management (from Givenchy if I remember correctly) and the first results of this hiring is their most famous face known among the gen Z (the dumb People spending in crap overpriced logo items) becoming a Chanel face.
Dua Lipa is anything but what Should CHANEL be and represent, typical move to get someone "trend" and known by gen Z and try to boost engagement and sales. Get Lily Rose Depp for the campaign at this point. What's next? Kylie Jenner for the next Chanel 22 campaign?

I like the print image, I think it works as a bags campaign and Dua looks great!

100% Kylie will do a campaign. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s with Timmy

YSL, Versace, Chanel… get those coins girl!!

the bag is hideous but she does look good.

Aren't you guys tired of these mercenary celebs switching brands every two seasons? It shows they are Just greedy and hungry for money.
- Anne Hathaway does Versace (Tapestry), Shiseido, Bulgari (LVMH)
- Dua Lipa does Chanel, YSL beauty (L'oreal)
- Yara Shahidi Did Dior beauty (LVMH) then moved to Gucci (Kering) and she also got a JPG perfume campaign...gurl
- Willow Smith Did Chanel under Karl and now she is doing Dior beauty...

Talking about being a millionaire and showing no integrity

Dua Lipa can be everything but a Chanel girl, she lacks the classic, elegant and classy beauty that a Chanel girl should have. The bags are horrendous.

I think you mean Caroline D-P from Bottega Veneta!
And yes, Dula Pipa is the furthest thing away from Chanel - I imagine their clientele are confused af, considering she’s heavily associated with Versace ? And her fans won’t spend money on chanel….is their PR team okay?

The current most extreme example of this, I think, is Zendaya. Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Valentino, Lancôme, and On (sportswear brand) all within the past couple of years. Previously she had done campaigns for Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, and Covergirl. Oh, she does the SmartWater ads, too.

Let’s not forget that Chanel had Lily Allen for a bag campaign… at least Dua is famous LOL.
Said that, as others members noted, I find annoying those celebrities doing lot of brands. She’s a Versace girl, she had two fashion shows with them and a campaign…

If Georgina May Jagger, Lily Allen, Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively became the faces of Chanel bags, Dua Lipa can.
I’m surprised that they are going forward with signing celebrities so close to the arrival of a new CD.

I like the photo and hate the video.

Definitely tired of celebrities switching from brands to brands.
But I guess this bag is doomed. A Chanel bag pushed by a celebrity campaign right after it launch never became a staple in the catalog.

I hope however that her stylist will do the most to have her look good in Chanel.

I'm of two minds about celebrities hopping around.

On the one hand, if they're really a ~fashion girl~ then I can see the fun of working with multiple houses because it's normal to be a fan of multiple houses. I don't think it's so outrageous for a celebrity face because models who do this as their job (I'm talking about the big names that have the same kind of pull for fashion fans the way celebs do for regular people) can be the face of multiple brands. Musicians have different eras and actors do different projects, so I understand the appeal of expressing their public persona through attachment more than one brand.

On the other hand, switching around so much takes the air out of announcements if it's assumed they'll move on in a year or two. Same thing if they're the face of two or three other campaigns plus a friend of the house somewhere else. It becomes a portfolio for the celeb's own personal brand and that makes every part of it less interesting. Not having the time to develop a relationship and association between the face and the brand makes the connection less exciting. It also makes it seem that the house either doesn't have the talent or the money to keep the celeb face around. Or that the celeb doesn't know their own public persona and is publicly trying on brands to see what fits.
