I am crazy about this girl but I am always quite disappointed with her printed work... I don't know how this is possible... that Jeune et Jolie poster still takes my breath away every time I see it... Her Dazed cover was very good too...

Yes to Marine, no to Karl's photography... :ninja:

Was expecting a larger and more elaborate shoot, but considering this year's cruise show was very much a smaller and less costly affair than the past few years, it's fitting that the campaign is also a simple production.

I honestly thought this particular Chanel collection was heavenly, so I'm a little bias toward everything here. I'm all for the idea of Lagerfeld using someone completely out of left field too, and you can understand why he likes Marine Vacth. She oozes all the qualities of Karl's quintessential Chanel woman.

simply is the whole impression for me to this collection. it may be good to have sth light once a while

Marine is such a stunning woman in person. Her eyes are stunning, these photo's don't do her justice.

I get the whole 'Ancient Greek' thing they have tried to do here but a little bit more diversity in the shots and posing would have been nice. I also feel like they could have utilised the background in a much more interesting way.

There's something missing here. It just looks so hollow. We've seen these type of landscape shots before for Chanel, and he especially did wonders with Freja years ago (SS 2007), but this one isn't working for me. Also don't like Marine's hair and make-up. It looks more 80's streetwalker than sensual.

Classic Chanel resort campaign. Nothing fussy.
I like the choice of Marine. She looks very Chanel actually...it is weird to think that she was once the face of MiuMiu.

I like it but nothing to be too excited about. I wonder if this was styled by Lucinda or Carine...

Chanel's pre-collections campaign are never really elaborate. The campaigns for Paris-Cuba and maybe Paris-Venise were the most elaborate they have ever done. Usually they are simple (like this one), boring (Paris-Shanghai) or ugly (Paris-Byzance).

Not crazy about the campaign. Could've been so much better. Marine is lovely though. Karl just did a mediocre job.

I don´t love it but I like it enough. So kudos to Karl for not using an IG girl or youth oriented concept.

Something is not working here, love the background and the model but in a way they don't go together fluently.

She's incredibly beautiful, but the campaign looks flat. Still better than any gimmick image like cruise of two years ago with Stella Lucia and so on.

Yup, It was styled by Lucinda Chambers.

Thanks for the info, Kite! I'm guessing this arrangement will now be permanent for the time being. This is a step in the right direction. I'd say Lucinda is now out of her comfort zone, and that energy will hopefully inspire Karl to also come up with something new. Fashion aesthetic aside, I must say it's really heartwarming to see the generous side of both Karl and Carine. Lucinda may have had more solid connections within the industry than I thought. Carine's got more than enough on her plate so I don't think she'll be pressed over the loss of Chanel.

But it will be interesting to see how the relationship between Chanel and British Vogue furthers especially with the lawsuits the magazine and Edward have against Lucinda.

She's really beautiful but this campaign is so empty. They could've done so much more than just a plain background.

It's Cruise 2018 btw, not 17/18.

She looks like Katy Perry to me in some angle.
