Chanel Cruise 2026 Lake Como

It’s inoffensively bland. And that’s okay. Many steps up from what we’ve been suffering through for seasons now, and a god send of a collection after that Marseille disaster.

The models… the models. They’re just so beige. Children being dressed up by their overly doting mothers on their holiday whilst getting ready for a boat dinner on the lake, when really the parents will be in the back room doing party favours as their daughter sulks about it all with a leering lecherous “uncle” until the boat docks.

he will have to do traveling shows at Chanel for cruise it will be his thing soon :-)
Sorry I wasn't clear, I didn't mean geographically/the idea of Croisere etc since he will be doing 10 collections a year. I meant this specific twee aesthetic department mall style set-up of this Cruies collection.

Although officially Mathieu's debut is in September, this feels to me like he already had his hands on it.

There is an easiness, a simplicity and relax that contrasts with the heaviness from previous offerings, but also some "daring" cuts for such a conservative brand.

This, on a positive note.

Maybe it is a little underwhelming for Chanel.

An inoffensive moment indeed.
Still the best collection by the studio and also probably better than some of the Virginie’s stuff.

Tbh it looks like the wardrobe of Angèle and Whitney Peak. It’s cute, wearable, easily digestible. It seems like a waste of a location indeed because those travelling collections are also about a moment. But then, neither Manchester, Marseille and LA were moments…

Finally some decent shoes at Chanel!
why couldnt the new guy have this as his first collection?
The company set the location before and of course, they prefer to capitalize on the exposure of the show in September with everybody in town compared to resort where it’s mostly clients, key journalists and friends of the house. And let’s not burn out the man. He started two weeks ago lol

Summer is such a cruel season.

You start at Chanel with your ideas about gowns, play on volumes, outerwear and fancy shoes and you are forced to do miniskirts and flip flops.
I would want also my debut to be in September...

A very straight-to-the-point boutique-friendly collection. It does the job.

I like the opening and closing looks.
What I miss the most about the past cruise collection is the lack of techniques experiment. Even if cruise is the most commercial collection, Karl is still challenging the atelier with fabric development and even couture techniques. Here we have basic silhouettes with basic fabric.

I can't wait for Matthieu debut.

Due to his non-compete agreement with Kering, he started a few weeks ago. That isn't enough time to fully develop a 69-look collection. That said, he could've had a few influences on the final styling of the collection.

And to parrot @Lola701, Chanel most likely wants the whole circus (journalists, celebrities, influencers, VIP clients) for Blazy's debut. Destination shows (especially Chanel's) tend to be more client-oriented with the show being the center of a whole mini hospitality session featuring dinners, parties, activities, etc.

Also, who had the bright idea of having models walk in 3"-4" heels on gravel? They could've at least laid a runway path on the floor for the models to walk on.
