Chanel Cruise 2026 Lake Como

The Fashion Studio is really trying. And now we officially know Virginie was the weakest link. Is this collection groundbreaking? Of course not. Is it offensive? Also no. It's perfect for a transitional season (in both senses). It's a palate cleanser for the last RTW collection before Blazy makes his debut. And I think it accomplishes its goal.

why couldnt the new guy have this as his first collection?

And yet the company’s president of fashion Bruno Pavlovsky was sanguine: “Chanel beats to its own drum. We don’t aim for disruption,” he said. “October will be the beginning of something new, but it will take time. We’re not in a rush.”

For a moment I was afraid to see Virginie Viard at the end of the videos online. I think it's my least favorite collection since Chanel went vacated. So this is the penultimate show before Matthieu Blazy's debut.

Post-Lagerfeld Chanel is still pretty but it's just lacking that decadence that comes from rich fabrics and attention to detail. Still, this is beautiful and a pre-season is hardly indicative of anything.

Boring AF! Looks like an Act One collection done by Virginie circa 2013. Literally Matthieu could not come soon enough.

Speaking of that. Does he have a completely separate team to whoever designed this? It’s so confusing. He and his team are in place but not touching anything until the October debut? And what about the current team that did this? Are they working on both these collections and on Matthieu’s debut?

This collection would have probably be designed even before he joined.
He came with some of his people as some articles stated but Chanel has two ateliers anyway (1 Couture and 1 RTW). And he is probably still in discovery phase. All the people will be dedicated to him after the Couture.
And now that I’m thinking about it, this is very early of Chanel to present a resort show. Late April is a real first. I guess some ambassadors will attend the MET.

And I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the Couture collection is already either very much advanced or done at this point.

Funny yall don’t like those pink lame looks.

So I guess that confirms we don’t Frida Giannini to return to the scene, because those could be from her.

Most of this is inoffensive. Ready to buy basic Chanel codes. There are some very ugly, dated things though.

Most of all, I’m just ready for mathieu so that there is a direction.

The shoes are good here. Lots knows Chanel heels have not been good in over a decade for the most part.

They used every Chanel trope – lace, tweed, crochet, chain, leather. They tried to develop power dressing for women who know how to use their credit cards. Accessories are better than expected. What really impresses me is the storytelling that went into the looks. It all revolves around Riviera insouciance.

much more youthful, which is good ... short skirts, frills, long-flowy-sheer pants
there are still some clunkers but when the collection veers clean, younger, sexy and light, it feels like CHANEL should, it feels like the right direction
let's hope they steer that way going forward
( i think it looks better on video that in the stills)
