Each and every collection since the Marseille show only makes it easier for Matthieu Blazy.

I’d even argue since last Karl’s show…it’s just sad that the company that got me into fashion (and many many more people) is just a shadow of itself. This is a parade completely detached from the reality, style and the „Chanel - ness”. Studio is clearly filled with people so focused on their particular job they can’t see a bigger goal or having a faint sense what they want Chanel to be not now but in a year, 5 years etc time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Blazy and his idea of Chanel.

I don’t know. Chanel has no image now. It’s just a tweed tailleur, but that’s it.

Considering MB just followed what Daniel Lee did and didn’t even have a tiny input in BV image, it’s hard for me to picture how Chanel will look under him.

I remember watching Chanel shows when Karl was at the helm and even if I didn't always love everything he created, I still adored aspects of his clothing and shows. This show though...I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed at this point. lol

I’d give him a tad more credit: His Bottega debut was superior to anything and everything of Daniel’s. Shame he went the Pieter route and overcomplicated, overwrought, and overdesigned afterwards.

But if Virginie didn’t destroy Chanel, Matthieu’s only going to take it through the stratosphere. And that includes the prices. The higher Chanel raise their prices, the more some women— and the Truman Capote gays, will covet it. Chanel is the Regina to their Gretchens.

And you just know his faux-tweed leather suits and faux-denim leather quilted bags alone are going to cause a riot.

It's a boring collection but I don't mind. Blazy is gonna start working in April so I don't think the studio needed to reinvent the wheel this time, just put auto-pilot mode until Blazy's arrival.

I think it’s a little bit different here. Considering that Blazy was in the team already, it was natural for him to evolve something that he contributed to in the first place.

At Chanel, he is clearly there to shake things up. It doesn’t mean that we won’t see tweed, tailleurs and all the codes but the allure and result will be very different indeed.

Of course people can post it, but there are also other Instagram accounts, like WWD and various Vogues, that don’t require you to slide through five captions just to get to the video. Honestly, most catwalk pictures and videos are usually ready within an hour or two; it’s not that urgent. At least that's my opinion, feel free to do whatever you want...

Lola701 - I want to know your thoughts on Chanel's RTV quality (especially the tweed jackets). I went to try on a classic jacket (black, braid, chain, two pockets). They quoted me $8900. It's Made in France but I'm like is it really worth it?

I know BV under Mathieu is very well made but not sure if he can carry that high standards to Chanel for the future collections.
