Chanel Iman

I think she's with Elite Paris now because on the side note of her showcard it says,"From March 1st" and Today is March 2nd :)

I hope her Paris shows are just good as other seasons. She seems to be kinna over Fashion week or maybe she's just tired and doesn't really like travelling every week. Again guys, she is an established model and among her counterparts, she's probably at the zenith of her career. And for an African American model to STILL be around after how many seasons is pretty good. Every season there's a breakout girl and they're here for a season or two then they dwindle away. But Chanel's been her from the get-go. She'll do good in Paris, I'm sure. I don't know whether it was as good as other seasons, but she'll do fine. C'mon now, she's CHANEL IMAN!

The switch to Elite Paris is very strange. This is now the third agency in Paris that's representing her (Ford Paris -> Viva -> Elite). I thought Viva were doing a great job with her on the Paris front. Elite Paris has one hell of a crowded board with models who have a higher profile than her. I hope they do well for her and give her career development the attention it deserves. If anything, she should be ditching Ford in NYC.

Love that post Gaultier! It's not only an achievement for her to be around this long compared with other black girls but compared with her Caucasian counterparts when you consider that the majority (I would say 80%) of them are backed by particular photographers and editors for long portions of their career. They wouldn't be anywhere without that support. I admire Chanel for defying the odds and not being a "fill-in-blank with name" girl yet still working slowly and consistently.

I just need some major editorial from her. What's frustrating to me is that the big photographers choose to work with new models of the moment which is fine and interesting to see; but they also choose to work over and over with the same girls who don't appear to bring much energy and creativity to the set. Chanel seems determined to show her versatility and she's not being given the chance lately. What I would do for just one M&M or Roversi editorial with her :)...

I hope it'll change, I think she's growing into her look and will eventually grab the attention of someone important. A lot of models take a while to reach the jackpot moment in their career. (I'm feeling very motivational today, sorry :p)

IMO its her relationships with certain designers and a couple of powerful american editors that keeps her relevant. When her career as a "working" model is over and she's in her thirties I can def see her opening/closing Dsquared2 (like Carmen this season) or Dior. While on the subject of Dsquared2; where is her campaign already?!? She's basically been one of their house muses for years now!

Right now I believe she has that rare opportunity to be a true crossover success. Her VS work is starting to pour out and she already shot that only-girl Rosa Cha campaign.:p I'm hoping for something commercial like Express or Gap and then a blue-chip wild card! Oh yeah, and a few high profile covers and eds sprinkled in for clout......:D

Looks like her BIG cover for a French magazine was French Revue de Modes for their Spring/Summer cover!

Refreshing smile! :)

Poor girl has to share every cover she's on...if not with 5 other girls, it's with +10 :(. Oh well I should be glad though, she has another one to add.

Hoping for Balenciaga tomorrow :flower:! As I have to start work early tomorrow, I will be checking up on the cast just after the show is finished :p.

^ I expect her not to be there but the full collection is not up yet and some of their campaign girls are missing...there's a slight chance she might have walked.

I read on Twitter a few days ago that she's all over the Saks Fifth Avenue's S/S catalogue.

There's still Givenchy & Dior. There's still Givenchy & Dior. There's still Givenchy & Dior. There's still Givenchy & Dior. There's still Givenchy & Dior. There's still Givenchy & Dior.

I think Hell would freeze if she did Givenchy....Jourdan did Givenchy Couture some seasons, but never did RTW! Besides I don't think the casting couple, that do Givenchy, like Chanel very much. This is truely the bummer of all bummers....I was really looking forward to seeing Chanel somewhat redeem this season by doing Balenciaga!
