How ridiculous? GISELLE has said from her own lips that she's retired...

First of all, when someone says a model is "retired" that means they are out of rotation...At the peak of a girls career she could easily walk 3 or 4 shows in each city. That's count them ladies, 15 to 20 shows per season (at least)...not to mention that they do editorial work for some magazine or another almost every month...So yes some of the models who I said are retired still do campaign work(but it is VERY expensive to get them) and they do walk shows(but usually only by special request or as a special favor for a friend)...FOR EXAMPLE:

Gemma/Daria walked 6 or 7 shows TOTAL (as in all four cities), Liya Kedebe only walked 3 shows total, Natalia only walked Calvin Klein this season (and has only walked for them for the last 6 seasons) Gisele walked Dolce & Gabana which is the first show she has done in about 3 years & Karen Elson didn't walk ANY shows this season! Those would be all the girls I mentioned...

COMPARE these #'s to Agyness who walked 29 shows for fall 2007 alone

AND YES all these girls have campaigns and occasionally do spreads but so does Kate Moss and Christy Turlington and Linda Evangalista and Iman and the list can go on forever...most models who get big will probably go on to do editorial/campaign work in some form or another well into their 30's and 40's...

And once again, if you are going to quote me, quote correctly. I didnt say 21 is old period, I said 21 is old to have just made it big because it puts a cap on the length of your career...In the case of Irina (as she herself as said many times before) she fell into modeling when Kate Moss told her she should do it (because she wants to be a muscian before a model) and Malgosia just proves my point, she's been modeling since when? 2000? 2001? She was a teenager when she started! Most top models: Linda, Kate, Naomi, Giselle, Karolina, Iman etc, etc. they all started in their teens....

may i mention Carmen Kass over 21 and going on strong (considered a super by many in the industry) also Morgane Dubled, Amber Valetta, Jeisa Chiminazzo-who has recently gotten a huge lagerfeld campaign, among many others.

i consider Daria/Natalia; even walking only 3 shows to be of a far higher caliber someone who walks 20. There really is no comparism. While racking up a ton of shows is a sign of an impact, the top girls can do far more for their careers by being exclusive and only doing the blue chip ones. When you're young most often it is hype and i've noticed that many of these types of models end up in the "models that disappeared" thread. This early in their careers most new girls are simply not of the standard of the top models.

Most especially not this particular model-wannabe.

1. I am not jealous of model A, B, or C. -please thats getting to be a sad comeback now.

Daria and co. may only walk a few shows a season NOW but when they were just getting big they walked 20+ shows a season...you really have to reserve judgement on who is and who isnt a "high caliber" model for when these newer girls like Chanel or Agyness have as many years under their belts as Daria, Natalia etc. (that is, if their careers last that long-only time will tell)
