Chanel Iman Robinson, a 17-year-old model from Los Angeles, is celebrated enough in the industry to drop her last name, in the style of Naomi, Cindy and Tyra. But she still gets passed over for jobs. "I will fly to London for what is supposed to be 20 casting calls and won't get but 15 because the other five designers don't want black models," she says. "That's not going to happen to white models. It's upsetting and insulting and totally backwards.''

I cannot believe she passed over London because 5 designers did not want her. 15 is more than what your average model does...![]()
There's a very limited number of big shows out in London.
It seems that she has not been getting the shows her agents want her to do out there.
I guess it's not a very wise for a model of her calibre to walk for 15 random, smaller designers.

And hey if Linda Evangelista did it(Herve Leger), she did it for free though, why cant she. For all you know one of these designers could be the next big thing and she will have the privilage to have worked for them!
