I'm sorry, but none of this changes my view of Chanel Iman. I am no fair weather supporter. Chanel is a young girl, eighteen years of age, give her a break. I do not think her boasting was meant to be taken so seriously. She is having fun. I especially love the video of her getting her hair together for the day, I mean, it's funny, it's cute, it's endearing. LOL. She has a point, you never know who you are going to run into, and for her, image is everything. As a model, your look, it is the most essential piece. Work Miss Chanel. We should be happy she is so personable, rather than the cold, frigid, boring models a lot of you seem to love, but would not even address you with a hello or good day if you walked up to them in the street.

LOL@ "You know how it is ladies..." She seems down to earth to me, as down to earth as a beautiful, tall, successful model can be.

I really do think she made this work for her. You can tell the dress could be worn successfully in a very different way, but honestly, she looks amazing. She looks as though it is tailored for her, which is what personal style is all about. I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but my hat's off to her for personalizing an outfit that has such an ingrained tradition and expectation that comes along with it. It looks like she was being respectful to the dress, but also wasn't giving in to the hype surrounding the term couture.

I agree, when I really get into her there, the look was a total go. I originally thought a ponytail was needed to really bring everything together, but the look, it was well done without it.

Chanel Iman must have loved doing voice-overs during Fashion Week for her Style.com avatar, because in the past week, she's opened up a YouTube channel called "ChanelImanTV," "so you can get to know me a little better." Five videos have been posted already, including one in which she gives her mom a makeover on the set of a photoshoot, one in which she pranks a friend with a fake mouse, and perhaps the most talked-about, a video monologue in which she comes off like a mini-diva in the making, below.
