Chanel Iman

I love her in the Rodarte shot...to me she's one of the few standing out. Haters will always try and make an excuse for her posing too 'hood or whatever  but I think she's only second to Anais.

^

How on earth could anyone think that her pose was too "hood," she is one of the most exciting models to see in print out of her generation.

You'd be surprised what some people are saying on other forums/online communities. Comparing her to a "starving ethiopian":shock:

^Some people get blinded by hate of someone they've never even met. I believe the person that made the 'starving ethiopian' comment also compared her to Jim Jones (ikr???) in her last thread and was subsequently banned from TFS. Anyway, she continues to slay!

I wish she would get a chance at eds that didn't require her to smile/jump...she can certainly command a shot without doing all that (as cute as it maybe)..you get tired of it after a while.

She looks amazing here ....

Fingers crossed she'll be flying to Paris over the weekend for couture.

So I was looking through her twitter and I remember her tweeting about 'her' fragrance? Did that ever come out? LOL

So it looks like Chanel wont be doing Haute Couture:ninja:. She is still in LA (via her twitter). How unfortunate.

Aww I was really hoping that she would make a surprise during Couture week. I love her the most during Couture. *Sigh* Do you think it's because of VS or because she doesn't want to do it anymore?

IDK...it's not like she needs to do it anymore (she doesn't need to do Fashion Week at all either TBH); I would much rather see her at the ready-to-wear shows as the quality of HC has gone down. It's quite a boring week and it's not like all the major models in the world do it every season. Also it's very cold and not pleasant this time of year in Central Europe...

So long as she and John still have a good working relationship (because I wouldn't see her walking any other show) then that's all that matters :p.

^Exactly. She's proved herself on the runway. While she is one of the best catwalkers working today I really don't care that much anymore. I'm much more interested in her upcoming print work, known and unknown. This is such an exciting time in her career. She's made it very far while remaining relevant! She might never be a blue-chip campaign girl but that doesn't make her any less successful. Hopefully she continues to diversify her portfolio.

As far as I know...models get requested by the designers for the shows and there are 3/4 spots left in the line-up for the new, less established girls. Unless she has shoots to do this coming week...she and her agent are not going to say "no" if Galliano wants her in Paris and chose to chill out in her hometown instead because she doesn't need to do shows. With no campaigns in sight this season..she needs every show she can get. No shows = very little/relevant printwork and no campaigns

Chanel is not really doing much on the editorial/print front either. If shes not doing much print-wise....and she is def. not doing any runway. Then what do we have:cry:. It seems to me, she has lost that passion that she once had (and made me a fan):o

She could be taking a break or booked solid with VS work like catalogues, appearances, print shoots, and commercials. I'm not too worried.

I'm not worried either. At this point I've learned not to let any fears I have with her get the best of me because she's always coming out with something new. ^_^

Hope these aren't reposts in HQ!

I've decided that Chanel is an anomaly ... we cant really compare her to anyone ... because just when you think she is down and on the way out, she does something that keeps her relevant or is doing something that others before have not done (just one example, she's the only black model ever that's been able to be VS angel & simultaneously do vogue eds) and just as LabelWhore4 said she might ever be a blue-chip campaign girl but she is none the less successful ... i/people should stop trying to evaluate her success by comparing her to others & the narrow view we have of success which is basically do all the HF stuff for a few seasons & then at best fade into obsecurity ...

im personally looking forward to what she's gonna surprise us with this year, she really is a girl of surprises ...
