Chanel Pre-Fall 2011 Paris-Byzance

Hmm, I love the dresses on Bambi and Anna S. Finally a collection for Chanel that I love. I'd want every piece in my closet.

Vogue Paris posted few looks, so I post them here for a closer view on jewellery etc.

It looks SO luxurious,I love just every single piece!
You just cannot do wrong with the bohemian-luxury theme for me
This is such a HUGE improvment from last tragic Cruise collection

This is breathtaking, i think this is better than s/s 11

I love the theme, but the clothes are too "costume-y"....

It's really gorgeous.
Sometimes I think Karl's at his best on the less publicised collections.. his ready-to-wear stuff almost seems discordant with the lengths he can go with couture or pre-fall/cruise.. I would actually dare to say that it's the latter where he probably finds the most creative freedom.

I love the richness of the pieces and how they accurately emit the Byzantine inspiration, it is opulent but not really luxurious if that makes any sense, I think luxury is often something you willingly acquire and mostly for the status it might represent, it often enters a vulgar territory, this is a bit more about a specific aesthetic that dates back to a more.. historical? approach to dressing. Though I guess that's one of the empires that really cemented our current understanding of luxury. Anyway!

I think I'm the only person who likes these jackboots.
Collection is wo-wo-wonderful, I adore it.

And I'm always glad to see Poly wearing Chanel.

So regal! I'm personally not a fan off too much embellishments or bling but this collection is really quite beautiful, and so warm!! But it's suspiciously close to Lacroix

And omg, I cannot wait to see the jewelry better without all the other stuff. It looks so gorgeous.

Everything seems nice with the exception of those corduroy sequined pants which are awful and completely out of context, no?

This is really turning out to be a gorgeous collection, and the Byzantine inspiration couldn't be a better fit for Chanel. I love the restrained way that it was used. As opulent as so much of this is it doesn't seem heavy handed at all, and lord knows that's not always the case with a Chanel collection.

I also love the kind of relaxed, bohemian undercurrent that's here. It really keeps the look from feeling dated or gimmicky.

I love that kind of Empress Theodora meets Talitha Getty look on Freja with the embroidered coat and tweed pants.

What a delicious, luxurious, opulent collection!

I love how it isn't stuffy or precious looking, as spike said - there's a kind of underlying bohemia to it, a free-spirited air. Beautiful! <3

This is so so so gorgeous. It could be an couture collection.

How does Lagerfeld keep churning out such marvelous designs and ideas?

The flats / sandals are quite stunning. I hope we can have a closer look at them. The boots on the other hand are positively awful. The white boots with the black toe; they look like camel feet (two toes), no?
