^I second that. Who styles the Chanel shows? Carine Roitfeld? Every outfit of this collection could have been perfect. This is what happens at every new Chanel collection.
It's like they have a bunch of clothes that they don't know what to do with so they pick everything and put it together.
No comment about the shoes :sick:
Unfortunately it's not her. The styling is done in house. Amanda Harlech & Virginie Viard needs to take responsability for this mess.

I really like most of the clothes. They looks so light and very beautiful actually.
That layering trend needs to stop NOW!

The shoes looks like a bad version of the fabulous spring 2007 shoes...

oh...this is by far his worst collection in about 5 years omg! rubbish.

Like every Chanel collection these past years, there some nice stuff, some ugly stuff, some REALLY ugly stuff... and that's it. I really lost any excitement i've had with the brand, because you really know what you gonna get every single season. It's just... there.

I really don't wanna dive into that "should Karl retire" debacle, but the only thing i'm certain is that Chanel needs to shake things up, some excitement, DESPERATELY. Just the millionaire sets is not cutting in anymore. I think with Dior, YSL, LV and the rest of the french titan houses getting pumped up recently, feels to me that Chanel is getting lost behind, very dinosaur-y...

true, the styling is awful, looks like a total mess, but i like the clothes and colors

I get more excited about the presentations than the actual clothes.

No.
For all the reasons outlined above.

But the worst of all is those overprecious men's looks in blue velvet...
Most offensive: those tassles on their suitcases...aaahhhhhhhh!!

Chanel thinks we live in 1995. The sets are so passé... and not funny anymore. And the clothes... Who cares about them? They are just out of touch and ugly.

The WORST styling I've seen on any show in recent years!! The clothes in themselves were nice, but the overall looks were just damning for the eyes!!

Oh man, i am LOVING this, its been years since i liked his Chanel collection. But i do feel like if the styling was better, it could have been even more fantastic.

Caps worn backwards? Mirrored neon sunglasses? Coats wrapped around the waist? Black sandals? I just... I see enough of this in my daily life, I don't need to see it on a runway. All that's missing is the neon braces for the complete look.

Complete snoozefest for years. The fabrics are stunning, but the outfits are the same again and again. Grandma's shapes, very dated. While we know he can do interesting stuff like Fendi. Also the stage feels very dated. Just a gathering for PR/advertisment and nothing more. Don't talk me about the styling, atrocious.

What i'm always very interested in those Chanel is the use of the set. I mean we all know that it's for publicity and that it makes the brand stronger but I feel like sometimes he used them to highlight something about his work.
Generally, Chanel shows are used for:
- Push the lifestyle/codes of the brand: the perfume bottle, the carroussel, the bow, the jacket...etc.
-Showcase the inspiration of the season: The farm, the rock concert, the casino...etc
-Just for a visual effect: the moving catwalk, the stairs, the spiral, the bridge, the computer.

This time, even if Karl said that he wanted to make a tongue-and-cheek point of the way people are dressed in the airport, it feels like this set is only there to justify the real highlight of the show: the new luggage line.

I really don't think that people will care about the clothes. They are good nut not as directional as those from the FW collection. BUT those luggages???
I believe they will be sold out in 2 weeks.

True that.

I used to be a big fan of Chanel, still a fan but I've been tired of Lagerfeld and this collection proves it again -; though there are some really nice ideas.

He really needs to go.

yeah fashion is dead when its about the set and the selfies and instagram..i really miss the days when i got into fashion in the late 2000s...everything was so much better then
