Chanel S/S 2026 Paris

I'm conflicted. It's a vast departure from the Chanel that we've known for decades but on the flip side, I applaud Matthieu Blazy for turning the brand upside down and catapulting it into 2025. I need to digest this before making a final judgement...

It wasn't perfect but I saw a lot of solid looks. I loved the long white dress with the floral detailing and I think the suits looked very modern and wearable. The huge flap bags actually looked very practical?

I wanna see detail shots, but I think it was a good debut.

Loved his cute moment with Awar at the end.

There is something for everyone.
He is an excellent dress maker. The silk charmeuse dresses with knots are perfection.
They can delete the Banana Republic day outfits...just like part of the sound track.
But overall, I feel that the celebrity outfits were a distraction to lower our expectations. Well played Matthieu
I think Chanel is in good hands.

OMG what a flop.
Probably the most anticipated fashion show ever and what we get is...Bottega by Daniel Lee leftovers with the same leather scraps hats / accessories (those hideous earrings!). The only things that make the collection Chanel are the tweed and the bags.
It feels even more matronly and frumpy that Virginie!
What a major let down.
JWA obliterated Mat.

I liked it! Not all of it, but a lot of it. Love his takes on the camellia, which I usually hate.
It less heavy than Virginie's and overall more flattering even though there's space for improvement.
Not a 10/10 but a good show and a fresh take on Chanel.
The closing with Awar and her so happy closing the show smiling were the cherry on the top.

ok so it was just very...predictable? More "him" than standard Chanel codes I think. If that collection was without any particular banner of Chanel, I'd just think it was a BV collection with some inspiration from Chanel.
I liked the bags - kinda stepping away from the Chanelness into something more day to day and quieter. Nice and quite refreshing - maybe it's also a sign that logomania is going to be hibernated for a while again...for 15 years or so.
There were some nice looks, some interpretations of the jacket were nice, and there was this one long white satin dress with that draping around the hip - that was very Chanel to me - that ease and flow.
Great venue design. Nice DJ set.
And I love Awar's smiling in the show and (hopefully that wasn't directed) her getting off the line of models to do her thing/clapping - I think all the models should've done just that.
Nae bad but not a memorable debut.
I actually preferred JWAs play with CD codes - they were more visible and particular in a way.
