Chanel S/S 2026 Paris

The proportions look dumb on her, with the length of the shirt and the skirt in particular.

I have nothing against a deliberately oversized fit but here there is no anchor to it that makes it feel intentional…
I also think it’s a great eveningwear look for someone who doesn’t really like « eveningwear ».
Of course the context when it comes to celebrities is kind of decontextualized but it’s more of a nice base.

It’s a very « plain » outfit. She doesn’t look bad but she does look petite in this (probably more than what she is already.

Knee length is terribly unforgettable.
I’m sure in reality Coco hated to see knees because she wasn’t tall herself lol.

For some of my clients, the knees are not a flattering asset to show and I generally like it when a design is conceived so that a bit additional length in the hem can be let out when it's needed.

I agree that the look per se can work within the context you mentioned, it would probably require a woman like Tilda Swinto who not only likes to wear androgynous looks but also has the statuesque height so that the proportions look different. A shorter woman will just drown in these volumes!

anti modern woman when your clothes come with soooooooo many requirements to flatter females bodies and height & look etc lol

poor Chanel clients will have to be pre screened for being allowed to buying RTW

I guess the Chanel barbie after all was feminist :)

Im not a décolleté woman so for me its all legs lol.

But when it comes to oversized silhouettes in womenswear, I think ultimately women somehow have always to alter it. When I bought my Phoebe Philo popelin oversized tshirt, I got to alter them a little bit.

It’s so easy to feel good about the comfort aspect that you can be lost on it.

But I buy my men shirt from CDG shirts in general and it’s much more easier to manage the type of fit I want without having to get it alter.

But I think the only short in the front long in the back skirt I have is a Balenciaga by NG maybe from his last runway collection there. And it’s really short in the front and doesn’t touch the floor.

The irony about all this Chanel talk is that ultimately in the beginning I was only interested in the bag I wanted and then either a suit or a shirt. Now that the conversation has been dragged to that extend, I’m much more curious to try more things.
When I buy I like to compose outfits around the piece I want so I may actually enjoy myself again after a long time at Chanel.

Would love to see what you end up buying. And from LV too.

Not buying anything from Haider’s Tom Ford (yet) may allow my wallet to maybe splurge on both. I have a lot of things I enjoy in that Vuitton show. And I’m curious to see the draped dresses.

The prices at Chanel are DeFacto prohibitive so that will determine my purchases…Particularly the suit. But as far as the multicolor chevron bag (and maybe a shirt) it’s a done deal. I kind of wish they did the same smoking shirt from the show but in salmon. I like the plastron.

But other than those 2 very expensive brands, I’m also excited to see Margiela. I have a polka dot coat from N21 on my wishlist too.

I think in general the most difficult thing when buying things from HF luxury brands is that for me it has less to do with if I like it compared to how it will fit my lifestyle and make sense in my wardrobe and at the same time capture the spirit of the collection I liked.

That’s why with Chanel particularly I’m more on fence with the shirts. They are the iconic pieces of the collection but they are still (even though great) shirts. And I can’t say that I’m particularly shopping for simplicity anymore from these kind of brands even though I like seeing it in shows (which is also probably why I don’t feel like buying the new Celine even though I love it very much).

But yes, judgment day in the store in a few months for me.

I feel like you and I are the only two LV buyers on this forum now ;)

I eventually bought a couple of pieces, the last one two years ago (a jacquard pullover).

In fact, LV mens is always interesting to me, I consider "Pharrell's" offering far superior to Jonathan's Dior for instance.

But I don't run every season to certain houses.
It is not my budget nor my way of shopping.
I am not loyal 🤭😇

LV is luggage i can abuse many years for me and scarf´s as gift same times a crazy SLG in fun color ....RTW for me i follow it but never felt the urge to have something .......working with other brands i guess the neutral look sticks for the office life ....prada or other brands in RTW with no outside logo´s are more widely accepted as neutral.

LV is very product designed much like Hermes RTW both for men and woman you notice it in a environment where its jeans or suits in the same room.

Dying. Why is he hiding these looks? I would lose my head if I saw it on the runaway.
